Sophie stood outside Everglen. The giant, golden, glowing gates opened and Biana came rushing out. She hugged Sophie and grabbed her hand, tugging her into Everglen.

Sandor and the other goblin bodyguards were called back to their homes for some "important meeting".

"Come ON, Sophie! Everyone is here besides you!" Biana said, dragging her into a giant room with sleeping bags arranged in a circle, with all the heads close enough to whisper to in the night.

"Sophie!" Lihn squealed, rushing to hug her. "Hey, Lihn. So...everyone's here?" Sophie asked. "Yo, Foster!" Keefe called from across the room, doing some kind of handstand against the wall. "You really took your time getting here!" With a grunt, he flipped himself back onto his feet. His face was red from the blood rush.

"Wylie dared me to do a handstand until you got here, and, gotta say, Foster," he crossed to room to her. "You really like torturing people." Sophie swatted his arm and sat down on a sleeping bag in between Lihn and Biana. Marella giggled. "He wouldn't stop complaining, you know," she said.

"Sorry I'm late. Edaline had me bring these." Sophie held out a tray full of mallowmelt. When everyone had taken a piece of the gooey cakes, Biana asked, "So, anyone wanna play a game? How about Truth or Dare?" An evil grin spread across her face.

Sophie's eyes widened and Keefe and Fitz shared a look then shrugged. Marella, Wylie, Tam, Lihn, Fitz and Keefe all agreed. Everyone looked at Sophie. Sophie swallowed the lump in her throat and silently nodded her agreement.

"Yay!" Biana cheered. "I think the punishment for not responding to a truth or not doing a dare should be they have to do a handstand until someone asks them again!"

"That's fair," Tam agreed, and was it just Sophie or did Biana look utterly delighted?

"Great! Then I'll go first," Biana declared. "Fitz!" She squealed. "Truth or dare?"

"Truth," Fitz answered. Keefe grumbled something that sounded like Not a real man's choice.

"Who's your crush?"

Everyone looked at Fitz and Sophie cocked her head, wondering if he could hear her pounding heart. Fitz's face went red and he looked down at the floor. Then he looked up and scowled at Biana, crossing his arms. "Nope. Not saying." Biana stuck out her bottom lip, pouting, before she grinned. "To the wall then, big brother." Fitz glared then filled himself up into a handstand.

"Well," he grunted. "My turn. Tam, truth or dare."

"Dare," Tam said. Keefe pumped a fist in the air. "Better choice you made than for those bangs, Bangs Boy," Keefe grinned. "I dare you to wrap shadows around the elf you think hates shadows the most for five minutes," Fitz announced.

Tam thought about it for a second, then turned towards Sophie.

Then the world went black. Sophie started to panic. She could hear the Neverseen's voices. All mocking her, laughing at her, hurting her. It was all too much. She started to thrash and scream, begging them to stop. Her wrists burned with the memory of her kidnapping. She screamed even louder and thrashed harder. She reached inside and found a pile of energy, ready to burst and inflict at her command. Before she could unleash all her emotions, she felt hands pin her down. Voices reached her ears. Not voices of the Neverseen, but if her friends. Fiends. Sophie's heart calmed down enough to realize that the darkness had faded and that Wylie and Keefe were holding her down.

"Are-are you okay, Sophie?" Biana whispered. "You started screaming and thrashing and we couldn't calm you down." Sophie swallowed. "I'm fine. Really. Just...don't do that again. I hated it." Hugging herself, she sighed. "Alright, we should continue. Tam, it's your turn." Tam, looking slightly shaken, grinned. "Hey, Hunkyhair! Truth or dare?"

Keefe bit his lip. "Dare," he finally said. Tam's grin turned evil. "Hey, Biana, got any rainbow hair elixirs?" While Biana scampered off to grab the elixir, Keefe complained about how his hair will not tolerate this. "Alright!" Biana said, slightly out of breath from the dash. "Here you go!"

"I dare you to drink this," Tam smirked, handing Keefe the bottle. With only a slight hesitation, Keefe swallowed the entire elixir. His hair soon became rainbow colored and...honestly not that bad, Sophie thought. While he looked like a clown, it didn't ruin his style that much.

"Hello?" Fitz asked. "Can someone please just stop staring at Keefe and ask me a question? Please?" His face was now neon red and he looked like he was going to faint.

"Aww, come on, Fitzy," Keefe teased. "We all know that I'm irresistible. Ok, ok, stop glaring at me! Geez. Fitz, truth or dare?" Fitz flipped back onto feet, swaying a bit before sitting back down. "Thanks. I did truth last time, so dare," he said.

Keefe grinned. "Okie dokie! I dare you to sit by your crush!"

Oh! Sophie thought. Fitz blushed and sat...

...right in between Sophie and Lihn. Of course he would like Lihn! Sophie thought, sad but not surprised.

Just as Keefe was about to make a joke, Della's voice called out. "Kids! Dinner's ready!" Sophie blinked. "I'm like, fifteen or sixteen, right? Do I still qualify as a kid?" Wylie laughed. "Try being 21! But, I guess we're like babies compared to Della. She's like, what, a hundred something?" Jaw dropped, Sophie guessed she had lots of years left. LOTS of years.
