Owl House: The Last wish

Chapter 1;outbreak

Prologue, the demon realm, many years ago)

Evelyn stood before the funeral Pyre where her lover, Caleb's body now burned. She had known him for such a short time but for that short time it had felt like the world had stopped, he had become her whole life and she his but then Philip, that craven coward killed his brother thanks to his overzealous convictions, he had not only killed his brother but his niece as well...Evelyn had known she was with child for weeks, she had wanted to wait for the perfect time to tell Caleb, but she waited too long and now her child's father, as well as her child, are both gone like ashes in the wind. The grief of Caleb's death had induced a miscarriage.

The fire had nearly devoured Caleb's body by now. She would not send his ashes back to the human world, it didn't deserve him.

"How fair you, sister?"

Evelyn turned around and saw her younger sister, Delilah standing behind her.

Evelyn smiled.

"Better now that your here, sister."

Delilah put a comforting hand on her sister's shoulder, then looked at the funeral Pyre as the last of the body began to burn away. Delilah couldn't understand what her sister saw in the human but Evelyn had always known best so if he had truly had her sister's affection, he must've been a good man.

" Delilah, you must swear to me to never tell anyone about this"

Delilah smiled.

" I doubt my swearing in an oath to you, sister would do much good, everyone in the village already knows, or at the very least assumes that you've been shacking up with a human."

Evelyn was not amused.

"Very well, I swear that I will not tell anyone whether it be our family, or fellow villagers, or any outside travelers, or traders of this."

Evelyn nodded then looked one last time at the now dying-out fire.  A tear fell from her eye and landed on the forest floor.

"Goodbye, my love."

Evelyn then turned around and walked back to her cottage.

As the two sisters walked away a beautiful red rose grew from the spot were the tear had landed.

(Twenty minutes later)

Evelyn and Delilah walked up to their cottage and saw the front door was wide open. Evelyn gestured for her sister to be quiet as they both carefully walked into the cottage and saw that their entire home was in disarray! There were smashed bottles and bowls, all over the floor', the pantry had been knocked over with nearly their entire weeks worth of food, being eaten up by the few scavengers that walked into the open door, but they weren't concerned with thatthey were concerned with the sound of an angry man coming from the living room.

Evelyn looked in and saw none other than jinn, her former fiancé. Jinn was a pale and skinny man with particularly sharp-edged ears. He turned around and saw the two women.

"You!!" Jinn shouted.

"Me?! What the name of titan have you done to our house?!" Evelyn shouted, putting up her snake shifter, Palisman, Roy in between herself and Jinn to maintain distance.

" you dare to break apart our marriage agreement just so you can go around the village cavorting with some filthy human?!! How can you lower yourself to such status, I mean, my titan, they've just barely finished evolving from Apes and you would rather be with one of them, than with me?"

Evelyn smiled mischievously.

" at least these ape-men as you call them know how to treat a woman instead of just
Treating us like indentured servants as you did me! Be gone, Jinn, or else I will call the town guard!"
