Luz stepped into Hexside. The school itself was so dark, the feeling of emptiness washed over her as she walked deeper in. She drew a light glyph to see where she was going. She stopped in place when she heard a sound coming deep within the darkness of the halls. She held String-Bean/Decebalus, up in defense but quickly put the staff back down when she saw what was coming out of the darkness, It was Clover and Emmiline Bailey Marcostimo. The two Palisman came towards Luz. She embraced the two creatures lovingly.

"It's so good to see you two again. Willow and Gus will be so happy to see you two."

"Consider them a peace offering." A voice coming from deep within the darkness said.

Jinn then came out of the darkness with his palisman, Mephistopheles in hand. The miniaturized sun and moon still stuck in the skeleton Palisman's eye sockets.

"Hello Luz, it's been a while," Jinn said.

"It's been a few days, that's not awhile, you look like garbage by the way, what's a wrong jinn, not feeling up to snuff."

Luz could tell she had struck a nerve by the look of anger on jinn's face.

"That's not the proper way to address your elders."

Luz waved her hand in front of her face, she could smell jinn's rancid breath from here.

"Uggh, your breath smells like roadkill."

"Enough of this! Let's get to the nitty-gritty, shall we? You're here for the Collector are you not?"

"Yes, where is he?"

Jinn smiled. Why he's right here?

Another figure walked out of the darkness but instead of seeing the collector, she saw a miniature, abomination dressed in the collector's old clothes.

"Oh Luz, don't look so disappointed, sure he's not that handsome, but he does have a face only a mother could love."

Luz looked hatefully at Jinn.

"You tricked me!"

"Yes, I did. Truth be told I never knew where the collector had runoff to but I suspected you two would meet up somehow and I also knew your mistrust of the boy would bubble to the surface eventually, which would drive that petulant young man to run away and all I had to do was correctly guess which time to send you the message and with a little help of illusion magic it worked . I knew Amity's trap was too obvious to work so
I just came up with a better way to bait the idiot mouse, did you get mouse of course being you, Luz."

Luz wouldn't take the bait, she knew Jinn was just trying to make her angry so he could defeat her more easily, but she wouldn't give him that.

"So here we are, hard to believe our little journey started on a small island and will now end in your school's cafeteria."

This was the cafeteria? It was too dark for Luz to tell. She wondered why Jinn hadn't attacked her or hadn't cast any spells yet.

"Well, what are you waiting for?" Luz asked.

" I'm waiting for you to drop your staff and follow me outside."

"And why would I do that?"

"Because if you don't poor little Amity will die."

"No, your lying."

"For once no, you see Amity did not completely join my side of her own volition, when I first found her I could tell she had a burning ambition inside of her that was just waiting to be unleashed, but unfortunately, she kept this part of her hidden, and I must say, hidden quite well but I was still able to find it in her soul, all I had to do was give her a little bit of myself to take away her inhibitions and allow for her ambition to take over, but I wasn't stupid. I knew I would have to keep the child in line, so along with putting a little bit of myself, and into her, I also put a special little curse. Thanks to this curse within her soul, she can die whenever I wish, and I will activate this curse if you do not drop your staff now, and come with me. So what will it be my dear, will you take the chance and fight me and end up losing the love of your life or will you surrender so that at least you can know when you die that the love of your life may still have the option of living out her natural lifespan?"
