When Mother Miranda had finally vanished, the first thing Emily Tempest could do was give a sigh of relief but her focus and her heart quickly turned to the injured Heisenberg in her lap. He had basically taken a bullet for her, one that was like a meteor strike from Miranda and she never thought until now that she would come to care about his wellbeing. He saved me... he saved me, no one has ever done that to me before. She gazed down at him with genuine concern.

"Heisenberg! Are you okay?" She cupped one of his cheeks, and the rough facial hair from the touch felt like scratches against her palm.

He looked at her groaning, "Ugh... buttercup,  you do care about me," he teased, groaning from the pain.

Stop calling me that, she rolled her eyes and heard the thunder crash again, it was louder this time and the storm was close.

"Let's go inside, can you stand?"

He didn't answer so she sighed and then pulled him up, draping his arm over her shoulder and holding him at the waist so she could keep him steady and they began to walk back inside the factory. Heisenberg stumbled constantly as they walked across the dead grass. It was possible he was either gravely injured or it was just a scratch, Emily was not a doctor but her heart told her she wanted to help him now, nothing else mattered after Miranda's revelations other than helping him. She couldn't let him be used and discarded like it she was caught in the middle with these special powers while it happened to her mother.

They slowly entered the factory once again and Emily spotted a door on the far side of the elevator. She lugged him around the corner and pushed the door open and then found herself in familiar territory, a wide open room with the white double doors she had seen from the factory's garage entrance. It would be a short walk to find the stairs to the bedroom.

"Why the hell are you helping me?" Heisenberg grumbled,

I care about you, those words didn't emerge from her mouth, "Because you helped me," she insisted calmly, trying not to cry. She didn't want to argue with him, not anymore. He had already hurt her enough, all she wanted was to stay with him and make sure he was okay.

Heisenberg sighed this time and let her lead him up the stairs until they were in the bedroom. She slowly eased him onto the bed until he was sitting down and he looked at her cluelessly as if he had forgotten completely about saving her life

"Well what the fuck are you doing?" he asked,

"Let's see it," she requested calmly,

"What?"

"The wound, I want to see how bad it is,"

He chuckled and grunted again, still in pain, "It's no big fucking deal, don't you know what the Cadou does, it heals me over time. It's gonna take more than just a single maul from that bitch to kill me!"

She had to be firm with him, if this was going to work between them, whatever this is besides an alliance to stop Miranda, then they needed to compromise, for real this time. Emily paused briefly just realizing what she contemplated, does this mean now I'm truly taking his deal? Wait, first I need to tend to him.

"I don't care, I still want to see it," she insisted, calmly but firmly.

Heisenberg sighed and then removed his hat and sunglasses. His lavish gray hair shook around, and without his hat on, it seemed like had more hair than she realized, and seeing his face without it and the shades in full, made Emily notice how young he was even if the grayness made him appear older, it was possible that his hair had been a different colour before the Cadou. She had also forgotten how intense his eyes were, as she hadn't seen them since the day she first arrived and he made his offer to her. But then her focus turned and right away she saw his scars.
