Chapter 17: New & Old Acquaintances

Hello lovely people did you miss me hehe... did you guys like the special Chapter I had posted earlier, I was gonna post this chapter much sooner but I was tempted to write more in it. I really take my time writing since I want this chapters to come out really well and that I won't hate them later 😅 I do hope you enjoy this one tho.

"Welcome to wanmin restaurant, how can we serve you today?" Her bright voice boomed with excitement watching her newest customers standing in front of her, "ah... um well, I've never been to liyue so I'm not quite sure what would be good." You stood there aware of the sparkling stare the young woman was giving you, these types of people were a rare sight for you as a noble.

"Oh no worries, we can also make the food to your taste if that's something you prefer?" You couldn't help but smile at such a bubbly person, "could you perchance serve me something sweet, but that's local since I've been really wanting to try liyue dishes."

"Of course miss, and what would the gentleman be having?" Your eyes shifted toward ajax, his eyes meeting yours as a smile appears upon his lips. " I would like a calla lily seafood soup," it appears your confusion was evident as he proceeded to laugh ruffling your hair.

"It's what I ordered the last time I was here with Mr. Zhongli" he was painfully playful, you weren't sure if what you had said was replaying in his head on repeat or he was contemplating other affairs but he looked dazed all the same.

You had wanted to liven the mood but was unable to come up with anything so you had started staring at the young woman cooking the food; her outfit was a red-orange in color, it almost looked like the sunrise you had seen not too long ago. "Your outfit has such a nice color," the woman cooking had stopped just for a second before her face became flushed.

"T-thank you, although there are many more unique outfits here in liyue, you could also get one yourself if you'd like!!"

"Oh... and where would I go to get one tailor-made, if you don't mind me asking?" Your tone was playful; this woman didn't take offense to your slight tease, she was in deep thought as she skillfully prepared the food like it was second nature to her.

"Not sure I would know, but I might have a friend that would be helpful, if it isn't too much of a bother?"

"Not at all, it would be nice to meet new people, actually now that I think about it. May I ask for your name, if you would be so kind?" Childe wasn't looking in your direction but he was intently listening in, he knew this was something that he couldn't help you with.

"My name's Xiangling, I'm a chef here! My favorite place is the chicken... I mean, the kitchen!" You had held your laugh at her mistake, but you couldn't hide the smile that had formed. " M-my name's Y/n. I have traveled here from snezhnaya, I wish to travel all of teyvat."

Your words must have intrigued her since her eyes sparkled with so much joy, "wait really that's so amazing. I would love to visit other places, and the food! I could get some other ingredients for my food!" She was practically bouncing at the mere idea. You on the other hand were just happy to make someone else's life a little happier.

"Here you go, this is what you guys ordered! Oh, the name of the one I gave you is rice pudding. I hope it's to your taste. Enjoy!" The shape of it looked like clouds, the steam swirled as you breathed in the sweetness of the food before you. "Thank you, Xiangling."

Taking the spoon by the side of the bowl, you scoop a light amount of rice blowing the rising steam in an attempt to cool it. With a careful bite, you savor the softness of the rice and milk intermingling. Each grain popping with the flavorful liquid inside, "whoa, the texture! I can't fathom how this was even made."
