Little miss Pace

Chapter 1

Info: Skyla is here twelve years old, and she lives in an orphanage. Yeah, that's all you need to know. Read on! And thanks to @PollyHall for the idea.

"I really like your eyes!" the man that wanted to adopt me said.

Ugh, sliming. Why does every guy that wants to adopt someone try it, it's dumb.

"Anna, I don't like this man." I said to the owner of the orphanage, and she looked really angry at me.

"Skyla?! That's rude!" Anna said and slapped my arm.

That's gonna be another bruise...

Anna isn't a mean person, I'm just extremely rude to people. And I always just say what I think.

"Skyla, go to your room!" Anna exclaimed and I just silently stood up from my chair.

I walked to my room, well it isn't 'my' room I share it with the three bubblegumblowers, BGB for short.

They're the thypical rude and mean girls of the orphanage. Even Anna hates them, more than she hates me!

I walked into the room, and sadly enough all the BGB's were there.

"Aah, little Skyla got rejected again. How sad!" one of the girls said with a pouty face and I just tried to ignore it.

They all laughed, and I sat down on my bed and grabbed one of my many books.

"I think everyone in this orphanage will get adopted, exept for Skyla." an other said whilst chewing her gum, it sounded disgusting.

I absolutely hate it here, I think I've lived here for eleven years now.

I was one year old when I came here, and I was the first one here.

Eleven years later I'm still here, but with the worst 'friends' I could possibly wish for.

I get why nobody wants to adopt me though. I'm extremely rude, and I have really bright blue eyes which made me look like some kind of ghost.

"Bella,Gabby and Britney. It's your turn to come." Anna said and I was cheering inside.

They aren't gonna be adopted together, but they do always go together.

I grabbed a magazine from Bella her bed, and I started reading it.

Blah, blah, blah, hot guys, blah, blah.

Gossip, gossip, gossip, ooh poster!

Lee Pace? Pretty handsome fellow.

"That dude was a total hottie, he could've been my brother." Britney said followed by laughing from the others.

I quickly threw the magazine on Bella her bed again, and started reading my book again.

They then came in and gave me a look with disgust.

"He was totally flirting with me!" Gabby said and they all sat down on the couch.

"Skyla, did you touch my magazine?" Bella asked shocked.

"No." I replied shortly and didn't look away from my book.

"OMG, Skyla touched your magazine!" Britney yelled and she made her 'ew' face.

"Girls, time for dinner!" Anna yelled through the whole house and all the eight girls ran downstairs exept for me.

I didn't want to come and eat, I don't want everyone bullying me again.

"Skyla?! Dinner?!" Anna yelled again and I sighed as I just started walking downstairs.

We had sushi, that's one of my favourite things to eat in the whole world.

I sat down next to Katelyn, she was the only person that didn't openly ignored or bullied me all the time.

"Hello Katelyn." I said shyly as Anna gave me a plate with some sushi.

We didn't have the money for chopsticks so we just ate the sushi with our fingers.

"Hey Skyla, how are you?" she asked and we both started eating.

"Terrible, just as always." I sighed and she chuckled a bit.

"Hey, you're not sharing a room with triplets that finish eachother sentences." she said smiling and I laughed.

"I just hope I'll get out of here soon, I'm sick and tired of this place." I sighed and she nodded understanding.

"Everybody this week we'll have two more visitors, tomorrow and friday." Anna said, it's monday today.

Everyone cheered, exept for me and Katelyn. We were both hopeless anyways.

"I just wanna run away from here." Katelyn sighed and I totally understand.

She has only been here for like three years, and she was the first girl I actually liked.

"We could just run away." I sighed and looked at her.

"Yeah, but when?" she asked and maybe we'll actually do this.

"Just after dinner, just go. We shouldn't pack anything, we'll be fine out there." I said and she quickly nodded.

"Okay, deal." she said happily and I was really excited to finally get away from here.

We then stayed silent, both extremely excited to get away.

At the end of dinner, everybody went upstairs, so we were all alone.

"Let's go!" Katelyn said and she dragged me outside.

We never went outside so it was awesome to finally see what it was like.

"Where should we go?" I asked and she was still in shock by the location.

"The park!" she exclaimed, grabbed my hand and we ran off.

When we arrived in the park we sat down on a bench, and looked at the fountain.

"What are we going to do now? I mean we're practically broke." I said and looked around.

"I brought money, I've been saving up my pocket money." Katelyn said and she showed me her wallet.

"Katelyn, you're the smartest person I know!" I exclaimed and I hugged her.

"What time is it?" she asked into the hug and I quickly looked at my watch.

"It's seven o'clock right now, maybe we should find a place to spend the night." I sighed and she raised her eyebrows.

"Yeah, that sounds like a great idea." I said and I felt a few raindrops falling from the sky.

We both then stood up, and walked towards the exit of the park.

"Where are we going?" I asked and we started walking through the city.

"Well, there is this cheap hotel on the other side of the city. I suggest we go there." she said and I noticed that people were staring at us alot.

I was kinda scrared, I've never been here. But Katelyn looks like she knows what she's doing.
