Little miss Pace

Chapter 5

"So do you want like a skirt, shorts or jeans?" he asked and I really didn't know.

"Jeans, I guess." I said and he just walked to a section with only jeans.

"What kind of jeans?" he asked and I just shrugged.

"I don't know." I said and he just looked at me again.

"Let's just try multiple, and what kind of shirt or top do you want?" he asked and grabbed like three diffrent pair of jeans.

"Something comfortable and loose." I just said and he quickly nodded.

"Okay, I think I know something that you'll like." he said and he grabbed something white.

"Let's go try it on then." the guy said and we walked towards the fitting rooms.

"Just let me know when you're done." he said and handed me a pair of skinny jeans with the white top. (see picture)

"Okay." I said and stepped into the fitting room.

I just put on the clothes, and I first looked in the mirror before stepping out.

"Ooh, I like it. But I think that braid should go over one of your shoulders." he said and quickly put the braid over one of my shoulders.

"There, now it's perfect!" he said and put his hands together.

"Aren't these jeans a bit too tight?" I asked and looked in the mirror.

"No darling, they fit just right." he said and he knotted the front part of my top.

"I wanna show it to Lee." I said and I started walking towards Lee.

"Lee? What do you think?" I asked and he turned his head to me.

"You look lovely!" he said and I smiled back at him.

"But don't you need a jacket?" he then asked and I nodded.

"Yeah, I'm going back then." I said and walked back to the guy.

"And what did he think of it?" the guy asked and he inspected my outfit once more.

"He liked it, but he said I still need like a jacket." I said and the guy just nodded.

"Do you like leather jackets?" he asked and I just nodded shyly.

"Here, take this one." he said and handed me a simple brown leather jacket.

"I love it, it looks so awesome!" I exclaimed as I looked into the mirror.

"I knew you'd like it." the guy said with a big smile on his face.

"You can keep it on, and then come pay now." the guy said and we both started walking towards Lee.

"Lee, I'm done." I said and he looked at me in awe.

"Sir, you can come pay now. She can keep the clothes on." the guy said amd gestured Lee to follow him.

Lee then quickly paid, and we walked out of the store.

"Now let's go get you back to your orphanage." Lee said and we started walking.

"Lee, I really don't want to go back." I sighed and he nodded understanding.

"You have to, it's for the best." he said and we had arrived in the neighbourhood where we met.

"Do you know the way back from here? I have an emergency meeting so I'm in quite a hurry." he said but he had some doubts about leaving me here.

"Yeah, I'm fine from here." I said and we both sighed.

"Here, you can have this. Just so you'll remember me." he said and handed me a simple black leather bracelet he had on.

"Thank you so much." I said and I put it in my pocket.

I then put my arms around him, and I hugged him tight.

"I'm gonna miss you so much." I said into his chest and he started rubbing my back.

"I'm gonna miss you too, Emilia." he replied and we both knew this was goodbye.

"Goodbye Lee, hope I'll see you soon." I exclaimed and walked off.

"Bye Emilia!" he yelled after me but I just kept walking and grabbed the bracelet from my pocket.

I held it tightly in my hand, and pressed it against my chest.

It was only a ten minute walk to the orphanage, and I just sighed before I walked in.

"Skyla, I was worried sick about you! Where's Katelyn?!" Anna exclaimed and she hugged me tight.

"I have no idea where Katelyn is." I sighed, and I couldn't tell Anna that she ran away, I promised that.

"Our visitor just left, he adopted Brittney." Anna said and I got a smile on my face.

"Finally, one of them left!" I exclaimed happily and I knew she felt the same.

"Yeah, but Gabby and Bella are crying right now." Anna said and I just sighed.

"Can I sleep in Katelyn's bed, I really don't wanna listen to two crybabies." I said and she just nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, that's okay. But how did you get these clothes?" Anna asked and I sighed.

I told her the whole story, but I didn't mention Katelyn once.

"So this guy just let you sleep in his hotel room, and he bought you new clothes. Just because he was nice?" she asked confused and a bit shocked.

"Yeah, he was just being nice." I said and she could just see that I missed him really bad.

"Oh, you miss him." Anna said and she put her arms around me.

I just started crying on her shoulder, and she rubbed my back soothingly.

"What was his name again?" Anna asked and I replied honestly.

"Lee Pace." I said between sobs on her shoulder.

"Oh darling, it's gonna be alright." Anna said but it didn't quite help.

"No, it'll not be alright. I found the one person I'd love to call my parent, and I let him go!" I exclaimed clearly mad at her.

"Skyla, calm down. If you love something, let it go. If it comes back to you, you can keep it." Anna said and she was right, I've only known him for a day.

"That's true, I'm off to bed." I said and I walked upstairs to my room.

I grabbed all my books, and I saw Gabby and Bella sobbing.

"Are you okay?" I asked just trying to be a nice person.

"Why do all the pretty people get adopted, and why are we stuck with you?!" Gabby exclaimed between sobs onto Bella her shoulder.

Everytime they would say something like that, it hurts, it hurts like hell.

I ran out of the room, and I knocked on the door of the room with the triplets.

"Come in!" they all said at the same time and I walked into the room.

"Oh, you're Skyla. We thought you were someone important..." one of them said, but I didn't know who they all look alike so much.

"I'm moving in with you." I said shortly and I looked around the room for a bed but there was none.

"Oh yeah, we broke Katelyn her bed so you're sleeping on the couch." An other said and pointed to the small couch.

"Oh, that's okay." I said and I dumped all my stuff on the couch.

"Girls, dinner!" Anna yelled and all the triplets ran down.
