Little miss Pace

Chapter 2

"Katelyn, have you been here before?" I asked and looked at the people who were looking at me.

"Yeah, just don't react to the catcalling." she said calmly as someone wistled at us.

"I don't feel comfortable being here." I said shyly and looked around.

"Skyla, you always talk back at everyone. And now you just shut down, c'mon!" Katelyn said and shook my shoulders.

"That's true, but can we please keep on walking?" I asked and she quickly nodded.

"Hey pretty lady, why don't you give me some of that booty!" a guy on the streets yelled and looked at my behind.

"No, thank you." I replied shyly but the guy just stood up and walked to me.

"What did you say? No?" he asked and stood close in front of me.

"She said 'no', leave!" a tall guy with a low voice said and pulled the guy away from me.

"What are you? a cop?" the guy asked sarcastically and his whole crew laughed at his joke.

The tall guy then punched the mean guy on his jaw, and walked towards me.

"I'll walk you girls home." he then said in his low voice and pushed me and Katelyn forward.

"Thank you." I said shyly and he just smiled at me.

"No problem, but what are you two young girls doing here?" he asked suprised but I get that he is suprised, we were kinda young for being in this neighbourhood.

"We are looking for a place to spent the night, and we don't have alot of money." I sighed. Why not tell him the truth, he's just a complete stranger.

"It's not smart to stay in a hotel here, don't you have parents with you?" he asked and Katelyn signaled me to not say anything.

"We ran away from our orphanage with not alot of money, so we cannot afford an other hotel." I said honestly and Katelyn sighed at my dumb action.

"I'll get you two a room in the hotel where I'm also staying in, and I'll bring you back to the orphange tomorrow." he said and I just sighed.

"We don't really wanna go back there..." Katelyn sighed and he nodded understanding.

"What are your names?" he then asked and Katelyn signaled me to just lie.

"I'm Emily, and that's Emilia." Katelyn quickly said and I just facepalmed.

Really? Our names are quite matching, which is weird since we're just friends.

"Did you know I'm adopting a girl soon, this friday I think it was. Together with my girlfriend but she's out of town at the moment." the man said and I just smiled hoping he would go to our orphanage and adopt me, finally.

Am I joking? Who would want a liar as a daughter?!

On no, now I'm hoping he won't come to our orphanage.

"And what's your name?" Katelyn asked the guy getting me out of my thoughts.

"My name is Lee, Lee Pace." he said and I've heard that name before, but I can't remember where or when.

"I've heard that before..." I accidently said at loud and they both looked at me.

"I'm an actor, so that doesn't quite suprise me." Lee said laughing and he had a really contagious laugh so I laughed with him.

"Look, that's my hotel there." he said and pointed to the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

"You can afford that?!" Katelyn exclaimed and she looked at the building in awe.

"Yeah, but I'm not really sure if I can get another room, maybe their full." Lee said as we walked into the beautiful hotel.

We then walked to office, and when I would look around in the lobby everyone looked rich and beautiful.

"Do you perhaps have another room that I could rent?" he asked politely and the woman behind the desk started looking through her computer.

"No, sir, my excuses." the woman replied politely and Lee nodded.

"Okay, thank you." Lee replied and he walked to the elevator with me and Katelyn following him.

The elevator was made of glass, and you could see the whole lobby from there.

"I don't think I'm dressed properly for this hotel." I said and looked at my oversized jeans and shirt.

"That doesn't really matter." Lee said and we stepped out of the elevator.

We then walked to one of the rooms, and Lee let us in.

"You two can sleep on my bed, I'll sleep on the couch." Lee said and he took of his jacket.

"This was not our plan, I don't wanna go back tomorrow." Katelyn wispered and I was pretty shocked.

"What?! I've never met someone that cared so much for me, I love it here." I wispered back but she didn't want to stay here.

"I'm leaving." she wispered back but I didn't want her to leave me.

"Katelyn, no!" I said bit she just shrugged.

"Have you girls had dinner yet?" Lee asked and grabbed a book thingie from a shelf.

"No, we haven't." Katelyn said and I looked at her.

"What would you like?" Lee asked and I was just shocked he actually gave us a choice.

"Do we have a choice?!" I exclaimed and he nodded a bit suprised.

"Yeah, here's the menu. Pick anything you want." he said and handed me the book.

"Skyla, I'm leaving. Goodbye." Katelyn wispered and she quickly rubbed my back.

"Just say I went to my uncle or something, don't come looking for me." she said and quickly stood up.

"Lee, my uncle's also in town. So I think I'm gonna stay at his place." Katelyn said as she already stood by the door.

"Can you go there yourself?" he asked her and she just nodded.

"Bye Emily!" I exclaimed before she walked out of the door.

"Did you find anything you like on the menu?" he asked and sat down next to me on the bed.

"Is there like a maximum price?" I asked and he laughed and shook his head.

"No, you can pick anything you want." he said and I started looking through the list.

"Can I have sushi?" I asked and he nodded.

"Of course, I'll call the roomservice real quick." Lee said and he grabbed a telephone and started ordering our food.

Where would Katelyn be right now? I just hope she's somewhere safe.

I miss my only friend so much!
