Little miss Pace

Chapter 7

"Goodmorning Skyla, I have some breakfast for you." Anna said and she handed me two pieces of bread.

"Thank you, what time is it?" I asked as I sat up and started eating the bread.

"Half past nine, maybe you should get dressed. The guy's coming at 10 am." Anna said and I noticed that I had only my underwear on.

"Yeah, I really do need to get dressed." I replied laughing and Anna walked out of the room.

I then quickly put on the clothes Lee had bought me, and I grabbed my notebook and bracelet from the table.

I sat down on the bed again, only so I could finish my breakfast with my mind on Lee.

"Skyla?! Our guest is here!" Anna yelled and I happily ran downstairs to the room where we would always meet our guests.

I burst in, and I saw Lee sitting in a chair playing with a bracelet he had on.

He slowly looked up, and his face went into the happiest thing I had ever seen.

"Skyla, OMG. It's actually you!" he exclaimed as he stood up and hugged me tight.

"Wait, how do you know my real name?" I asked into his shoulder.

"You made a lovely note for me, maybe you should read it at loud for Anna here." he said as he handed me the note I had given him.

"Dear Lee,
You're the first person that actually liked me for who I am, and you helped me when I needed it.
If there's one person I would love to call 'dad' it would be you.
Love, Skyla<3" I read at loud making Anna tear up a little bit as I read the last part.

"Maybe you should start packing, then we can handle all the paper work." Lee said and I happily ran out of the room to Anna's room.

I packed all my clothes, which weren't alot. But it was better than nothing. I also had the small notebook, that I absolutely didn't want to forget.

I then walked downstairs again, and I heard talking coming from the room where Anna and Lee were.

"She has been crying over you, she missed you really bad." I heard Anna say and I then carefully walked in.

"Hello, I'm ready." I said and Lee immediately stood up.

"Anna, maybe you could mail me all the paper work, then Skyla and I can leave. If that's okay with you." Lee said and he took my suitcase from my hands.

"Of course, bye Skyla." Anna said and she quickly hugged me.

"Bye Anna." I said shortly and she hugged me tight.

"Are you ready to go?" Lee asked and I nodded.

Lee and I then walked out of the orphanage, and he politely opened the door of his car for me.

I carefully stepped in, and he placed my suitcase in the trunk of his car before also getting into the car.

"Why did you lie to me about your name?" he asked as he started the car.

"It was all Katelyn her idea, I didn't have a choice!" I said hoping he wouldn't get angry at me.

"I'm not mad at you, I actually think it was quite smart. Never give your real name to strangers." he said and we started driving.

"Okay." I replied shyly and he smiled at me.

"Have some doubts about Amanda liking you, she said I should get a brunette with brown eyes." Lee said, wow that helps get my nervousness away.

"Oh." I replied and I bowed my head down.

"But she isn't here, so I get to choose our new daughter." he then said making me smile again.

"But what if she doesn't like me? I mean, I am not a normal girl." I said making him chuckle.

"She'll love you, I know her. I haven't heard from her since I left." he sighed, I could easily see he was worried.

"And you didn't call her?" I asked and he shook his head.

"She was laying in bed all day when I left, so I didn't want to disturb her." he said and I nodded.

"Do you have a favourite song? Or artist?" he asked making me nod lightly.

"I like Michael Jackson a bit, that's all. I'm more of a book girl." I said making him smile.

"That's cool, what kind of books?" he asked and I remembered the last book I had read.

"Fantasy, I especially adore 'the Hobbit' from J.R.R Tolkien. What is your favourite book?" I then asked making his head turn to me.

"I don't really know, I'm more of a movie and series person, I guess. Don't you like movies?" he asked and I shook my head.

"Nah, not really. I enjoy a good book way more." I said and he chuckled.

"But you said you liked Michael Jackson, I maybe have one of his CD's there, or something else, I don't really know though." he said and he handed me some kind of CD keeper.

"Okay, I'll check." I said and I opened it.

"You have one! Can we please listen to 'remember the time' that's my favourite!" I exclaimed extremely happy making him chuckle.

"Of course. You can put the CD in, then I'll search for that song." he said and I immediately put the CD in.

We were both loudly singing along with Michael Jackson's high pitched singing, and also both failing terribly.

Lee was failing the most, but that was mostly because he already had such a low voice.
