Adelaide's POV
Immediately waking up I'm bombarded with messages. I have like 5 from Caroline telling me that Matt knows about vampires and ran away from her. Then I have messages from Jack updating me on the mystic fall's dram ie Elena drama with a polite message at the end telling me to stay out of it. I don't bother reply to them as there's so much but instead get ready to go to her house. I quickly shoot a text to Caroline asking her where she is but it stays on delivered.
I walk inside after unlocking the door with the same key Aunt Liz gave me years ago when I get a call from an unknown number. I answer it hearing a distraught Jenna on the other line. Jenna and I get along well I've spoken to her a few times but the fact that she was calling me about this urgent predicament shocked me.
I allowed Jenna to rant about her current situation and actually felt pity for the woman, she was really nice but completely oblivious to everything that went on. I contemplated telling her but I thought that might make things worse with the state she's in so instead I comforted her as best I could before she had to leave.
After staying there for a hour I decided that Caroline was probably gonna be out for a lot longer than a while so I went back to my car. As soon as I got home I saw 'Elena' sitting on my porch.
"Do you need something?"
"No. I'm just curious"
"About"
"Your relationship with Elijah"
"If you're worried that you've finally lost him for good I can assure you Katherine I don't want him"
"How did you-"
"You dress a lot better than Elena and you radiate confidence"
"I need to step up my act"
"Nah you're good everyone else is just blind"
Katherine smiles at me before standing up to walk away. I feels bit bad for her considering she has no friends or family and she's being hunted by the person who killed them. What she did to the Salvatore's was horrible but I can't help but feel pity for her
"Would you like to come in?" I ask
Her face contorts in confusion before a small smile graces her lips and she walks back up to my house

Katherine left about a hour ago she didn't tell me what she was going to do and to be honest I didn't care. I got a text from Damon asking me if I was home which I promptly ignored until I heard a knock on my door. I groaned in annoyance before getting up and answering it
"I know i didn't explicitly say I don't like you but I thought it was at least implied" I say
"Oh it was but no girl can resist my charm" he smirks
"You smell like what I flushed down the toilet last week" I try closing the door in his face but he stops it with his foot
"Ok ok wait. Stefan wants me to be nice to you I don't know how I'm supposed to do that when your being so uncooperative"
"Here's an idea. Leave me alone"
"Can you at least just come back with me"
"I will if you pay me"
He gives me a look of disbelief before slapping a $100 bill in my hand after realising I wasn't joking
"A bit small but I'll take it

Stefan's POV
I'm currently on the phone with Caroline while she lists all the things we would be able to bribe Adelaide with
"She really wants a pet probably a hamster. Oh and she like cupcakes like red velvet cupcakes-"Caroline says
Why am I doing this you may be wondering. Well the only thing me and Damon can agree on is that we need help. We don't want it from John and we can't completely rely on Bonnie, she's not as strong and she hasn't used magic for as long as the Martin's have. Jack refused to help, only watch and occasionally give his input but he did mention that his sister was a lot stronger than him. Which leads us to what I'm doing now
"-she loves knifes and and anything that could potentially kill anyone"
"Thanks Caroline. I'll be sure to let you know if she says no so you can try convincing her"
I end the call with Caroline waiting for Damon to come back with Adelaide. Sending Damon to get her probably wasn't the best idea seeing as she hates him but I think the most she'll do is injure him which isn't even that bad.
As soon as they get here we both sit her down and offer her a deal
"Ok so in exchange for a hamster, cupcakes and full access to Damon's credit card I do what"
"Wait when did we agree on my credit card?" Damon asks
"Just now, keep up" Adelaide smirks
"You live here, like a live-in protection" I say ignoring Damon's question
"And why can't Bonnie do this"
"Bonnie's not as strong as you and she hates Damon and would probably kill him in his sleep. You seem more of the torture type so at least we know Damon will still be alive"
"I'll agree to this if you allow me to use one of you as my shopping basket and chauffeur whenever I go out. Meaning you carry all my stuff open my car door for me and drive me around without complaint"
" I don't think-"
"Deal" I say
"Great now which one of you is gonna pack my stuff for me"
