angelica's pov - november 10th

Over the last few weeks things have been different. Abby has been more nice and we've been getting along. But today I woke up feeling completely drained. I miss my garden and the ocean. I still have no clue where we are, how would Ellie ever find me? Did I want to be found?

Ignoring everything like always I use the restroom and walk briskly to the kitchen feeling sick but I chug water anyways. There was no note so I decided to use my spare time and continue reading.

Shortly after noon I started to hear a bird caw and sing, something I sorely missed about the island. Wanting to get a better look I pulled up the bar stool, nearly losing my footing. Humming in satisfaction with the sun finally on my skin and being able to see trees upon trees, I watch as two humming bird share nectar from a small white flower. How freeing it must feel to be a bird who could just fly away.

I'm not sure how much time has passed. I just watched the leaves fall and blow in the fall wind, watching the world turn. The world I may be permanently no longer apart of.

In my melancholy state I was too distracted to hear the door open. I was quickly brought back to my reality when Abby spoke.

"What the fuck are you doing up there?" She screeches making me look at her with wide eyes.

I can't even mutter a reply before she is quick to grab my small frame and rip me off the chair. I groan looking at her, feeling the tears start to form and the pain in my abdomen burst to life.

"Didn't I tell you what would happen if you ever tried to leave?" She continues dragging me to the couch.

"It's not.. it's not what it looks like... Abby I swear to you," is all I can manage to get out now terrified for my life. This seems to enrage her as she is swift to fold my body over her legs, using one to hold my own between hers.

"I've been kind to you, Angelica. But you are to know your place, you are here for a purpose outside of what you know," She states firmly and I start choking on my own sobs.

I have never in my life been handled so roughly and treated like trash. Abby is cold blooded and I'm finding it hard to believe I ever thought different.

I feel her pull my pants down and I thrash against her body with my own. I feel absolutely terrified, not knowing what kind of strength and discipline she is about to enforce upon me.

"Stop fucking moving," she breathes and just like that, I feel her hand dolefully make contact with my scarcely clothed behind.

One, two, three rough swats later and I can only sit there and take it.

"I'm sorry," I tell her because I am. Whatever in her life that has lead her to this point must have been so traumatizing and for that my heart aches for her.

Two more spanks are delivered.

"I'm so sorry Abby," I say as I wet her pants with my tears, gripping tightly onto the fabric of her jeans. Feeling the last shred of dignity I have vanish into the air. We both stay in place, breathing heavy and I cry. Shaking with everything in my being.

I'm in too much pain to realize she is carrying me to my bed. I'm trapped, I'm bent at the will of Abby who is as brutal as could be. I was foolish to think she could be my friend. Yet, I sit here wanting her comfort.

"I'm sorry Angelica, I am."

All I can do is nod because I have fully submitted to the wrath of her, there was no other way to say it. I understood. I got too comfortable.

I whisper just before falling asleep, "I really wasn't trying to leave, was just watching the birds."

At some point in the night I wake up to pee, and get a glass of water. Just as I turn the faucet on I look to the side and see Abby stand against the wooden frame. I feel the air leave my lungs and my bottom lip is bit between my teeth. Why does she have to be here now? I am tired of it all. She walks towards me but I take a step back, placing my cup back in the sink.

"Please, don't come closer," I whisper into the air but she ignores it. I close my eyes hoping she would disappear or hit me already but all she does is caress my pink tinted cheek. I sigh into her hand, exhausted and humiliated.

"I'm sorry, I got carried away and wasn't thinking rationally. It's been a rough few days and I took it out on you." She surprises me with this confession. What does she care?

I whisper and tell her it's okay but she pinches the bridge of her nose exasperatedly.

"No, no it's not. I really am sorry. I should know when to use my power and that wasn't the time."

"Okay.." I look into her eyes unsure but she turns the corners of her mouth up slightly.

She walks with me back to my room and I watch with a fast beating heart as she replaces the lightbulb in my lamp. I figured it would just be out forever.

Slowly sinking into the fabric of my bed she glances around the room and nods at me. I bite my lip and wave while mouthing goodnight. I can't help to stare at her muscular physique, wishing she could lay with me.
