JACKSON

Ellie has been extremely quiet since I broke the news. I stopped her from reading the comments herself, but I guessed she managed to look at her phone when I was in the restroom. I couldn't confiscate her phone all the time so it was bound to happen anyway. But I hated the look on her face. The hurt and the second-guessing herself. She was more than that. I glanced at her booth and she just finished her lunch and was about to grab her phone again when I reached over to take it away from her.

"Stop it!" she glared at me but I remained firm.

"No. You've seen enough and you don't need to look at those nasty comments anymore," I slipped her phone to my pocket.

"I'm not looking at them anymore," she argued. "I need it to check on my work. Give it back."

"Nope," I shook my head, "You can have it later after we're at home. For now, just rest. You might not be able to rest after this." I reminded her of her piling works since she left them for our honeymoon.

"That's more the reason why you should give me back my phone so I can answer their messages from now," she took off her belt and rounded the aisle to get to my seat. Seeing her stand in front of me, trying to reach into my pocket, I suddenly got an idea. I snaked my arm around her waist quickly and pulled her down until she sat on my lap.

"What are you doing?" she slapped my wrist lightly but I tightened my arms around her waist.

"If you insist on looking at your phone, then do it from here," I pulled out her phone and lifted it up. "So I can see that you're really checking on your work and not looking at those nasty comments."

She thought about it and then nodded, "Alright," she sighed. "If you insist."

I handed her back her phone and she really opened her messaging apps. I knew that I wasn't supposed to look at her phone, so I diverted my gaze elsewhere after making sure that she wasn't checking other things aside from her work. I glanced up every few seconds to make sure that she was really still looking at her messages.

"You know.. you don't need to keep a tight leash on me," she mumbled after a while. I blinked and looked at her dumbfoundedly. I totally had no idea what she was talking about until she pointed to my arms that were still circling her waist. I could feel my cheeks warm, and I swore.. I never blushed.

"You're not wearing your seatbelt," I answered quickly, trying to hide my blush. Oh come on, I'm Jackson Wang.. Why would I blush? "So I'll be your seatbelt to keep you safe. After all, there might be turbulence, so better be safe."

"Yeah sure, whatever," she rolled her eyes. "I'm finished," she announced and put up her phone for me to take. "Do you still need to confiscate this?"

"Yes," I took it and slipped it to the pocket in my arm rest. "Just to be safe. You can get it back to reply to your messages and after we land. Now, I believe I need my daily dose of your kiss," I puckered up my lips, hoping she took the bait and at least gave me a peck, but she just plastered her palm to my lips and pushed me away before escaping back to her seat.
