"Hey Maya" Barry said walking out of his drive way as I walked past his house on the way to figure out. "Hey Barry" I said stopping and setting my board down on the grass. "Where you going?" He asked wiping his hands with a cloth. "Home, unfortunately" I said checking my phone before shoving it back in my bag. "What you in trouble again" Barry laughed throwing the cloth over his shoulder and putting his hands in his pockets. "You know, the usual, existing mostly" I laughed. "I got new shit if you want any" he said. I nodded in agreement before picking my board up and following him back to his house. I sat down next to Rafe as Barry walked into one of the other rooms. "What are you doing here?" Rafe said as he stared at his phone while drinking a beer. "Could ask you the same thing Cameron" I replied rolling my eyes.

"Morning kido" Peterkin said knocking on my bedroom door lightly. "I'll let you get up first" She said before walking away. I got up and walked down stairs to the kitchen. "Morning" I said rubbing my eyes. "Just came to check up on you" Peterkin said as I walked around the kitchen island and leant against it. "You doing alright?" She asked as she ran her hand along the counter and stopped before leaning back against it. "Yeah, yeah fine" I said a bit confused. "Heard you've been going a bit low lately, if you know what I mean" she said looking at me. "no, I don't know what you mean" I said furrowing my eyebrows before pulling myself up onto the island and crossing my legs.

"I called the school they said you used to be a good student, now you're grades are slipping and you've been skipping school a lot more" Peterkin said crossing her amrs. "Ahh, not really, I'm only failing english and the teachers a dick, I swear he's got it out for me" I said leaning back on my hands. "Also heard you've been getting in fights, not much happens in the old obx that I don't hear about" she said. "Well yeah, but most of them we're with Sarah Cameron and if she kept her mouth shut once in a while maybe she wouldn't get so many black eyes" I explained. "Mmh right, also heard there was a fight at the bone yard the other night and you were involved, also heard that there was a gun involved" she explained. "Did I get in a bit of fight that night, yes but was there a gun involved, no no" I said leaning forwards.

"That's alright, I know who it was I'll get to him later, it's you I'm worried about" Peterkin said staring at me. "I'm fine" I said standing up of the counter. "I promise" I said. "Okay then, and stop fighting Sarah Cameron, I've got enough to do already and I don't need to be dealing with you two" Peterkin said as she walked to the front door. "But if I stick my neck out for you, you gotta help me. Tit for tat" She said folding her arms. "Ahh what" I said standing out the front with her. "Were you in the Marsh yesterday?" She asked frowning. "Ahh yeah, we were fishing" I said. "Catch anything?" Peterkin asked as we walked down the steps to her car. "Nah, nothing" I said putting my hands on my hips. "Huh, stuff usually gets pretty stured up after a hurricane, don't know what you might catch" Peterkin said opening her door. "Did you come across a wreck yesterday Maya?" She asked. "Nah, can't say we did" I said backing up a bit. "Best you didn't" She said before getting in her car and waving as she drove off.
