"This is disgusting." Kiara muttered while staring at herself in the mirror. "I know it's horrible, I'm asking you to relax and go to a party." Mum replied walking into the room while putting her earring in. "I look like a bourgeois pig." Kiara groaned. "Can you not worry about societies injustice system for one night, please." Mum said patting down my hair a bit while talking to Kie. "Mum, people three miles from here don't have running water or power and we're going to Midsummers." Kiara said turning around.
"Do you know how hard we had to work to get into this Island club?" Mum said folding her arms. "Yeah mum, how could I forget, you had to gravel for like 10years..." Kiara replied. "Twelve and we also had to cough up a huge chunk of dough and you know why we did that?." Mum said walking away. "To keep up with the Joneses?" I asked while sitting on the bed. "No. So yous could have the experiences, that I had as a child." Mum said walking back in and putting her hands on her hips. "Honey, do you know what the Island club is?" Mum said still talking to Kie. "A factory farm for debutantes?" Kie said.
"It's a nice place with nice people. Where you can do fun things." Mum said smiling at Kie and putting her hands on kie's face. "Without the touch of rich people. While the island sinks slowly into the ocean." Kie muttered. "Okay I want you to put your party face on, Kie, if you want to live. You too Maya, car go." Mum said to the two of us.
"Hey Pope" I smiled as I walked over to Pope while he was cooking. "Hey Maya." Pope smiled as he turned around to look at me. "John B and JJ, coming or just us and Kie?" I asked folding my arms over my gut. "Umm, JJ and JB are coming later. They've got some master Mind plan or something something." Pope said putting the plate of food down. "Do we get help or are we supposed to serve ourselves, because I'd hate to ruin my outfit." Kie asked in a funny voice when Pope was facing the other way. "Sorry ma'am...god Kiara, serve yourself." Pope said turning around and laughing. "That's a bit rude don't you think?" Kie smiled at him. "Yeah, where's the royal kook treatment, huh Pope." I smiled. "When's the last time you saw this many kooks in once place?" Kie said staring at everyone else. "Yeah. Last year." Pope replied wiping his hands. "She's definitely gonna poke someone's eye out with that thing." I laughed as everyone started clapping while the Cameron's walked out. "Here comes lord capital and the exploiters." Kie grumbled watching them.
"Dude don't creep up on me like that." JJ muttered as me and pope walked up behind him. "Hey unexpected PDA, dr Spock." JJ laughed as Pope hugged him.
"But hey love you too man." JJ smiled as Pope pulled away from him and JJ kissed his cheek. "Dude I'm sick of all this shit man." Pope groaned. "You're sick. You don't seem sick." JJ laughed patting his face. "I'm sick on the inside." Pope said swatting his hand away. "Yeah, well I already knew that." JJ said scratching his head. "Did Shoupe do that?" I asked looking at his bruised face. "No. I'm, it was my dad, you know. Has that right jab." JJ explained. "Pope, come help boy." Heyward called out to Pope. "Yeah, coming." Pope called out back to his dad. "See yous in a bit." Pope said half smiling as he patted JJ's back as he walked off. "Yeah see ya Pope." JJ replied watching him walk off.
"That looks like more than a jab, Jayj." I said softly as he turned around to me. "Nothing that hasn't happened before." JJ said trying to smile. "You okay." I asked quietly while rubbing my thumb over his cheek, looking at the bruises. "Yeah. I'm fine, May, don't worry about it." JJ whispered looking down at me. "Okay. Go do what you're supposed to be doing. I'll talk to you later." I smiled at him as he nodded and walked away. "JJ all good." Kie asked as j walked up the steps to her. "Yeah. He's good." I replied before walking inside with her.
Me and Kie walked outside when we heard someone yelling. We stood next to our parents while watching JJ get pushed out of Midsummers by security. "You can't just kick him out! We invited him here!" Kie yelled out at security. "Kiara." Mum said annoyed trying to make her be quite. "Yeah, let him go." I called out. "Hey mandatory power hour at Rixon's, May, Kie, come on." JJ said as he pushed the guy away and turned to look at us. "Pope, you too. Rixon's cove, let's roll." JJ called out pointing at Pope then us. "You can't hangout with these kids." Dad said to us. "Maya, Kiara. Back here now." Mum groaned day us as we quickly walked down the steps. I ran down the grass behind Kie, and hugged JJ as he hugged me back. "Come on, May." JJ smiled as we ran off behind Kie, Pope and John B.
