Chapter 3

(Algebra class)
Miss Collins:Put yourselves in groups of 4
(Lloyd,Kai and Nya are in a group. Everybody else is avoiding them)
Kai: Why is it that we can't find anyone to be part of our group?
Nya: I don't know but something is wrong. Do you know why they are avoiding us as if we have lice or something Lloyd?
Lloyd: N...No
Kai: Hey let's group up with that autistic kid over there. Even though people say he's weird, one thing I know is that he's a nerd. He could help us.
Nya: Kai... You can't just say people are weird without even knowing them.
Kai: Whatever... What I know, I'll rather have a nerdy weirdo than be only three. So what do you say?
Nya: Fine...
(They go over to the boy. He is sitting down reading a science book in the far end of the
classroom)
Kai:Hey! Do you know that everyone is grouping up for a quiz?
(The boy looks up confused)
Zane: Huh?! What quiz? Where?
Kai: Do you mean to say that you were reading to the extent that you didn't realize Miss Collins was talking?
Zane: Apparently... No
Kai: Well since you were too busy reading to choose your groupmates... we'll just have to group up with you
Zane: Ok
(The teacher gives them questions)
Miss Collins: What is 7000÷12×3-2+5
Zane: (raises hand)
Miss Collins: Yes you there?
Zane: My name is Zane Julien...
Miss Collins: Well Zane Julien I am sure that your name is NOT the answer to my question. I won't tolerate this nonsense in my class. Sit down now!
(Students giggling)
Kai: (whispering to Lloyd) Told you he was weird
Lloyd: That's not nice to say. If you look at his book, you'll see he practically wrote the correct answer without even writing the solution. He probably just felt like he had to introduce himself when he wanted to answer the question
Kai: But nobody does that!
Lloyd: Zane is different not weird and it's fine by me
( The whole class went by, but during that time everybody was stealing glances at Lloyd,Kai,Nya, and Zane. Kai notices this and questions Lloyd about it)
Kai: You know that I am new here and all but something is not right. Why is everybody stealing glances at us?
Nya: Yeah, it's weird. It's not like we have lice or something
Lloyd:(hesitant)Umm...I don't know. I'm not sure.
Kai: Well, then they must be admiring my cool hair.
Nya: Your hair doesn't exactly seem cool.
Kai: I use a whole bottle of hairgel on this baby every morning. There's no way this hair isn't cool.
Nya: Kai... your hairstyle is weird. I wonder why people haven't started calling you "hairgel" yet.
Kai: Sis, there is a little something that I have. It's called confidence. Since I am confident of how I look always, no one can confront me about it. I'm sure that one day, my hairstyle will become the latest trend.
Nya: Not sure that will be the latest trend anytime soon. Plus you are not confident, you're cocky.
Kai: No I'm not!
Nya: Yes you are!
Kai: No I'm not!
Nya:Yes you are!
Lloyd: I agree with Nya. You're kinda cocky.
Kai: Well, ok fine I am a little cocky. But I am also confident.
Lloyd; Whatever you say,(trying to stifle a laugh) hairgel.
(Nya giggles, Kai looks like he is going to turn as red as his shirt, Zane has a neutral expression)
Zane: What is so funny that required you to laugh like that Nya?
(Nya stops giggling, equally surprised as Lloyd and Kai are. They look at Zane in confusion)
Kai: You seriously don't get it?
Zane: No.
Lloyd: It's not even a little funny?
Zane: No.
Kai: Do you even have a sense of humor Zane?
Zane: What is this "sense of humor" you are talking about?
Kai:(whispers into Lloyd's ear) Told you he was weird.
Lloyd:(sighs)I guess you are right.
(The classes go on. Later the bell rings for lunch. All the students rush out excitedly not before some of them glance suspicious glances at Lloyd, Kai and Nya. Some students are whispering about it. Some students are whispering about the trio)
Austin: Isn't it weird how those siblings are friends with Lloyd?
Harumi: Who? You mean Kai and Nya?
Austin:Of course I mean Kai and Nya! Who else do you think I'm talking about?
Jack: I think Kai and Nya are just friends with him because they think his father can help them.
Harumi: Help them with what?
Jack: I don't know, crash the stock market,steal all the money and give part of it to their family so that they would be rich or something.
Austin: I personally think that Lloyd used dark magic on them.
Jack and Harumi: WHAT?!
Jack: How are you even sure that Lloyd knows dark magic?
Austin: Because his father probably knows dark magic too.
Harumi: Oh yeah? Prove it!
Austin: His father looks so creepy so probably dark magic made him look like that. Plus I can prove that Lloyd has dark magic. When we went home for summer break during our freshman year, Lloyd had hazel eyes. Now we come back for fall term and he has green eyes! He definitely has dark magic. And he is literally the only person in the city with green eyes!
Harumi: This is nonsense Austin! Firstly, dark magic DOES NOT EXIST! Secondly, if Lloyd was being affected by him using dark magic, don't YOU think his eyes would be purple or red or something like that NOT GREEN! Thirdly, if he has dark magic, wouldn't he just have mind controlled everyone?
Austin: Well, what I know is that the boy isn't ordinary.
Jack: I'm not sure about that but I will never be friends with him. Not with Garmadon Jnr. dark magic or no dark magic.
Harumi: Come on, let's go and get lunch. It's Mac and cheese Monday and I definitely don't want to miss out on the pasta.
( They head to the cafeteria)
(Okay everyone! I know some of you or a lot of you might be excited to see Harumi as a character but please don't expect any Llorumi in this story. I felt like it would sidetrack my story so I didn't include it in my story draft and manuscript)(Tiny spoiler pls don't read if you don't want one: Harumi makes a blog about the ninja similar to Alya and her Ladyblog from Miraculous)
