As Lily unwillingly withdrew herself from the library, she dreamily traversed the school corridors, a besotted simper adorning her lips.

In spite of Ms Valentine's said "punishment" being not quite what she had covertly desired for, the pensive caress of her comatose fingertips transversely against the cold passage walls as she wandered through, evinced the exacerbating chasm of her infatuation with the woman that a week of detention could never close up.

She had spent the remainder of her study period enveloped in the woman's emanating gentle warmth that she exuded with every little sublime smirk, each tantalising mellow giggle and stirringly jocular witty comment. Ms Valentine had been greatly obliging with her ministration to her studies, and with that, Lily's being thrived—her heart thrumming with longing and her fervour aching in divine jasmine essence from every teasing fleck of the woman's attention she received.

So much so, that even after the bell indicating the start of morning break and the end of her frustratingly fleeting study session with the woman rang, she had taken her time packing all her things away just to acquire a few more sweet moments in her presence.

It was so, so wrong, but Lily simply couldn't help her feelings or herself, especially when the woman had the audacity to sit so close to her, looking so painfully beautiful as she was, and not expect for her to fall in love with her.

There was no doubt in Lily's mind that she wanted, no, desired so badly to have the woman, and she had never felt this way about anyone before in her life. She's had many crushes, but none of this magnitude and she would have been lying to herself if she said that those feelings didn't scare her a little bit.

Never in this current lifetime would she attain the courage to confess to her teacher, not when her fate was scrawled with cursed ink into the stars. The fallout was destined to be tragic, and she wasn't sure whether she would be able to handle the rejection and embarrassment that came with it. She had to prepare herself and her frangible heart to live in silence for the next several months until she left school, and then after that, she would move away as far as distance she could from Ms Valentine and her affections for her to attend university.

For the current time being though, she shunned her worries of things yet to come and maundered through the extensive corridors vacant of the occupancy of other students that resided outdoors and in another parts of the school building for the break from lessons.

It was perfectly quiet, but Lily's imagination was noisy with the prevailing thoughts she had of her teacher. But as she came towards a junction where another corridor crossed the one she ambled through, she was pulled out of her reverie, for her ears picked up on the hushed sound of an anonymous voice that seemed to come from the other corridor.

As she advanced closer the voice turned into two; Lily couldn't quite pick up on who the unnamed confidants were, but the secrecy and seriousness laced within the tone of their voices piqued her interest. Her naive curiosity thrummed her heart with excitement to be able to eavesdrop on a conversation she was not meant to hear and indulge herself in some harmless gossip. That thrill she felt took control of her feet as she moved forward, but as she came to the end she stilled at the corner and pressed her body up against the wall.

Being desperate to see who the undisclosed figures were, Lily peeked her head around the corner to peer down the corridor and her eyebrows threaded tighter as she was met with the two individuals she despised most at the school.
