"Sam, please let me go."
"No." He reiterates.
"Fine I was going to call you Sahara." I blush slightly and push past Sam's arm.
"Why?" He asks before I step off the bus and the cool September air surrounds me.
~~~~~~
The bus pulls in at Sam's stop and I hope from the bottom of my heart that he will get on. He hasn't been on the bus in a week. It hurts not seeing him and he hasn't replied to any of my texts either.
A wave of relief passes over me as I spot the familiar quiff. But he's not alone. A tall brunette with cobalt blue eyes follows him. Her locks of hair cascade past her shoulders in all their chestnut glory.
Sam spots me but I intentionally avoid eye contact. Seriously? I thought we had something genuine. I thought we had genuine love. Clearly I was mistaken. I always thought that as a girlfriend I would be more rational, but now I see why all the girls in the movies blow up like volcanoes. I've been cheated on once before, I was expecting it from Jake but never from Sam.
I get off the bus without looking in his direction, ignoring the shouting of my name.
I start walking but someone firmly grips my arm, spinning me around to face them. Sam. I stand there looking at him blankly, waiting for him to speak.
"Why are you angry?" He asks.
"Why am I angry? Oh I don't know maybe it has something to do with the girl you brought on the bus." I answer.
"Keira?"
"If that's what her name is then yeah, Keira."
"Jen she's my best friend. I only have eyes for you, I've never looked at her the way I look at you." Sam says honestly, meaning behind every word.
"Did you see the way she was looking at you though?"
"She is only my friend, trust me."
"Okay, I believe you." I reply honestly. I do believe him I do, there's no denying that we have something. I don't think Sam would throw it all away.
"Let me make it up to you." He says a twinkle appearing in his eyes.
"How?" I ask intrigued.
"Come to my house at 7pm tomorrow. Give me your phone, I'll write my address in your notes. I lost my phone, I think I left in Cornwall." That explains why he hasn't replied to any of my texts. I pass my phone and wait patiently for Sam to finish. He hands my phone back to me and I look at the note. His address is typed there with a string of kisses following it. I smile at him. He kisses me and runs off, not wanting to be late to school.
~~~~~
The next day I throw on my favourite Hollister dress: white with black and grey flowers which stops mid thigh. I also put on a cream crochet cardigan along with my black ballerinas.I spritz my Victoria's Secret perfume and quickly brush my hair. I leave the house, butterflies erupting in my belly again, but this time they feel more like stomping elephants than butterflies.
I get on the bus and walk for 10 minutes after I get off before reaching Sam's house. I clench my fingers into a fist and knock on the door 3 times, waiting for Sam to open the door. After what feels like ages, the door flies open revealing Sam wearing a flowery apron.
"Hey. You look stunning." Sam says, smiling, clearly happy to see me. I can't believe I ever thought he would cheat on me, especially if I mean as much to him as he does to me. He's my whole world.
"Hi.Thank you, you don't look too bad yourself." I reply before stepping in. "Nice apron." I say, smirking as I pass him.
"Thanks, you know it's not my finest attire but I'm glad you like it." Sam comments winking.
He places a hand on the small of my back, guiding me outside, to a candle lit table. A white metal arch towers over the table, fairy lights, roses and peonies are strung into it illuminating the place. I sit down and he disappears back to the kitchen. Soon after he comes back with a massive dish in which sits a chicken. Sam runs back and forth to the kitchen and when he finally sits down, we tuck into the meal: sauted chicken and vegetables with cupcakes for dessert.
The conversation flew well, we talked about everything including Keira.
After we finished we decided to go for a walk and I asked, "Why did you do all of this for me Sam?" and turn to face him.
"Because Jen, you're the only one for me and I wanted to prove that I'm not interested in Keira in that way. She's my best friend. Nothing more."
"Thank you and I believed you, you really didn't need to do this." I say stepping closer to him. "Did you do it all by yourself?" I ask curiously.
"Well I had a little help." Sam answers stepping closer and placing his lips on mine. I swear his kisses are like heaven, they make me feel so elated and content, I can't believe I've survived so long without them.
We pull away and walk for a while longer.
After about an hour I turn and say,"It's late we should probably get going."
Sam agrees and crosses the road. When he reaches the other side of the road he holds out his arms waiting for me to run into them.
I step out onto the road and see a bright light coming closer and I instinctively jump back. I take a few more steps back but something behind me causes me to lose balance. I never make it into Sam's arms, instead I tumble down the hill, into oblivion.
A/N: Oooh I wonder what's going to happen to Jen? Thank you so much for over 300 reads!!! ILY GUYS, ILY! Sorry to end on a cliffy :)
