"Jake? What are you doing here?" I yelp, stomping over to his lazy figure resting against the wooden door.

"I wanted to see you, to tell you that I want a second chance, I know I really screwed up Jen but I realised that I still love you." He replies calmly, not shaken by Sam's presence .

"A second chance?" Sam questions.

I guess it's time to explain, "Yeah, me and Jake used to date but he cheated on me with some skank but as I'm sure he can see", I glare at Jake as I walk over to Sam and place my lips on his, "I've moved on and I'm all for second chances but you blew it Jake. I told you the last time I saw you that we are acquaintances, nothing more, nothing less."

"Woah, woah, woah. He cheated on you?" Sam exclaims and I nod lightly. Before I can stop him, Sam slams his fist into Jake's face, repeatedly. I watch his arm muscles flex in admiration before I realise what he's doing. I go over and stop him from punching Jake again, who is already on the cobblestone.

"I'm all for you beating him to a pulp but honestly Sam he's not worth your time. Come on." I say calmly to Sam and manage to get him away from Jake.

Jake, seizing the opportunity, gets up and walks off.

"You were great Sam, honestly your muscles." I admit breathlessly.

"Really? Are you impressed because you know I could so totally do this every day for you if you wanted." He replies with a smirk and not able to resist I smash my lips against his.

When we pull away Sam says "But I need to ask you something very important." as he picks up the wicker hamper, he previously dropped, prior to him beating Jake up. "Will you come to my basketball game? You know only if-"

I cut him off and say, "It would be an honour to attend one of your games Sam. I can't wait to see you in action."

"Good, here's your ticket." He says smirking and hands me a long slip of paper as well as a sleek, black box.

"What's this?"

"Open it and you'll find out." Sam replies with a smirk.

I open the box and find a red hued piece of material with the words Hastings and 07 printed on in white.

"Your jersey?"I ask in shock.

"Yep, I want everyone to know that you're mine and I'm yours." Sam wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me close, the air escaping my lungs.

"Rightly so." I whisper before our lips meet again. Sam pulls the box from my hands and takes out the jersey, our lips never parting. He slips the jersey over my head and takes a step back to look at me.

"Beautiful." He looks at at me with admiration.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I ask reflecting his facial expression.

"Because I can't believe you're really all mine." He whispers into my ear, sending waves of involuntary shivers down my spine. He places one of his hands around my mid-riff and the other behind my knees, picking me up bridal style. I taste his lips once more before resting my head against his chest as he carries me up the first flight of stairs leading to my house.

Once we reach the second door I say," You can put me down now."as I fumble for my keys in my bag.

"No, I'm never letting go of you." He says his words dripping with meaning that I can't help but believe him.
