My elbows rest on the wooden table, my chin in my hands whilst the teachers voice drones on and on about compost. I feel something vibrate in my pocket and sneakily pull my phone out of my jean pocket. I look at the screen and see that I have a message from Sam:
I'll pick you up at 8 tonight. I can't wait to see you.xxx
I grin at the message and quickly text Sam back:
See you then? Where are you taking me?xxx
"Jennifer, what is a disadvantage of a compost heap?"
I stuff my phone back into my pocket quickly, before replying,"Well they could smell and wouldn't look nice in a back garden." I hope that shut my teacher up, she clearly thought that I wasn't paying attention. Well, I wasn't but still, i pay enough attention to know what's going on and actually learn something. The bell soon resounds through the lab and a bunch of sweaty girls pile out of the room.

I stand in front of the full length mirror, admiring the way the white crochet, material clings to my upper body and flows out at the waist, stopping just above the knee. A black bow wraps around the waist, contrasting with the rest of the dress.
I hear the doorbell ring through the house and quickly grab a tiny, black bag, stuffing my keys, phone and bus pass. I slip on a pair of black ballet flats, with a tiny bow at the front and go down the stairs. I swing the door open and I'm met by a smiling Sam.
"You look amazing." He says twirling me around and picking me up. He sets me back onto my feet and smashes his lips onto mine, causing a swarm of butterflies to erupt in my stomach.
When we finally pull away I ask, "So, where are you taking me?"
"That's a secret, we have to take the bus but it won't take long to get there."
We set off and soon we're getting off the massive, red vehicle. Sam and I walk hand in hand for about 10 minutes before reaching a colossal hill. My stomach churns as I remember the accident but it wasn't all bad, I mean it brought Sam and I closer together.
I spot a blanket laid out on the emerald spikes of grass with a wicker hamper next to it. We sit and Sam takes out sandwiches, chocolate covered strawberries from Godiva, macaroons and bottles of water. We devour the sensational food and lay down on the soft, maroon blanket.
All the air escapes my lungs as I look up at the sky and see it covered with little white specks of light. The sight is amazing and what makes it even better is that I'm here with Sam.
I turn to face Sam and say,"You didn't have to do all of this."
"Of course I did because you're my princess and I would do anything and everything for you."
I grin at him before placing my lips on his, savouring the taste of his lips that has become so familiar.
~~~~~
We stargazed for a few hours before deciding to return home and after a 10 minute bus ride we get off, walking along the familiar pavement that leads to my house.
I shiver as the cold takes over my body. I didn't take a cardigan, not knowing I would be out so late with Sam.
"Here." Sam says as he places the soft material of his jacket on my shoulders.
I smile at him and peck his nose before continuing to walk. As we reach my house I turn to face Sam, holding his hands, as I walk backwards. We step into my front yard and he takes me into his arms.
"Tonight was great, thank you so much again. For everything."I whisper to him.
"It wasn't a problem, princess." He replies. He starts to lower his head to place his lips on mine but I notice his eyes darken. Not from lust, no, that can't be it. His body goes stiff in my arms as his gaze fixes on something above my head, near the door I presume. I turn, still in his arms to see what he's looking at so intently and my mouth flies open when I see the hooded figure at my door.
A/N: Sorry to end on a cliffy :) Who do you think is there?
The dress in the picture is Jen's dress for the date. Did you think the date was cute?
