Crescent sighed, pressing a finger against his head in annoyed tension. He had no idea who this guy was, he was just helping Palette because he had nothing better to do, but... Crescent had a feeling this would drag him down in a mess he didn't really wanna get involved with.
"Alright so.. like, how important is this crown?"
"Like... really super mega important." Palette answered, clenching and unclenching his fist in a nervous habit. Crescent nodded, stuffing his hand in his pockets. "Okay.. Well, I know someone who loves crowns." Crescent began to walk off, Palette trotting close behind.
Palette didn't want to ask 'who' again. His cousin seemed... exhausted at the mere concept of whoever this 'who' is. So many 'who's' in that sentence... who who who!
Suddenly, Crescent stopped. As if something in the atmosphere changed.
"Does uh... Does Nightmare know you're here? As in like.. you, you?" Crescent turned his head to look at Palette, who shrugged.
"He has a suspicion at least." Palette muttered. Crescent didn't respond, thinking for a moment.
"If he doesn't he at least does now. He probably realized I ditched the closet and it's now unlocked. So either he knows I'm helping you, or he's gonna think I'm incompetent." Crescent muttered something else under his breath, which Palette didn't pick up. The star eyed boy glanced concerned over his cousin who yet again seemed to be deep in thought. Palette adjusted his scarf, staring at the wall.
Palette's gut churned. He had no idea where Reaper was.. He wasn't in danger was he? Crescent would keep him safe. Although he's a bit.. frigid in the formal sense, he was a good person... right?
Crescent began to walk again, his speed being noticeably quicker than before. Palette couldn't help but get the feeling he wanted to get him in and out of this castle. But... the other took the time to fully inspect Crescent.
The tendrilled skeleton had a unique gray tint to his bones, a soft pastel mint decorating his face and large tentacles sprouting from his spine.. What's the word to use? Crescent was.. aesthetically pleasing..? Anyways, he was... fairly tall. Towering over the 5'8 teenager, obviously Palette didn't have a tape measure but... he looked to be around 5'10? 5'11? ... 5'100? Who knows.
Walk walk.
Turn.
Walk. Was Nightmare's castle designed to be insanity inducing? The amount of halls and turns you'd have to take.. If you didn't know where you were going, or in this case, had a guide to help, you'd definitely get lost. But maybe its very walls were designed to trap poor morons like Palette.
"Oi." Crescent snapped his fingers, bringing Palette out of his thoughts. "Stand here, or else she'll sense you." Palette nodded. Stepping behind where the door would open... waiting.Crescent took a mentally relaxing deep breath as he turned the doorknob to face one of his many siblings.
"Smudge hav-.."
"Ew. What are you doing here?" A high pitched voice broke through the door.. 'Smudge' seemed disgusted by Crescent's presence.
"I knew it. Give me that, it's not yours." Crescent went inside, the room still hiding Palette. Obviously the hatted skeleton couldn't tell what was going on inside... but it seemed like a sibling quarrel.
"Hey! That's mine!"
"No it's not. This doesn't belong to you."
"Don't touch me! I swear to the stars Crescent, if you take this crown off my head I'll poison you!"
"Yeah? Watch me."
A swiping noise was heard.
"H-Hey!"
