3rd Person POV
they went back to the chateau the next morning, big john hugged juno and she hugged him back as they all smiled at the sight of him. jj jumped on his back as he hugged him and juno smiled. soon enough, they all sat down and john b began to explain everything to them
"yeah so we , we went to the archives in charleston and it was. it was a dead end, a dry hole" john b said but juno noticed the way big john looked at him and the way he looked at big john. they were hiding something and juno could tell
"so that's the gold, the cross, and now el dorado. we're three-for-three, guys. the streak continues, that's great" pope said and juno sighed. pope walked off with cleo following close behind him
"see ya john b" kiara said
"I'm going fishing. thanks for the beer" jj said and he got up and walked off. juno made eye contact with saylor as him and sarah got up and left together.
"call me if you need anything" saylor told his sister and she nodded as he left. she watched them and then she turned to john b
"hey we're in this together right?"she asked the boy almost in fear that he would say something else
"yeah" john b said
"so that means you always tell me the truth" juno stated
"juno, I am telling the truth" he said
"look john b, the story that you told us isn't really adding up. you guys get the twinkie and go off to charleston without telling anyone and I'm just trying to understand why. if there's anything that you cant tell the others , you can tell us. look at us, what happened? you've just been acting so off since your dad got back" juno said in fear of what her boyfriend was going to say , she only wanted to help
"what happened?" john b
"yeah john b. seriously Its me . I'm on your side, you know " juno tried
"okay, juno. you know what happened, my dad came back and he's trying to help all of us and meanwhile your parents are trying to keep you on lockdown and you almost died , and I'm sorry you can't deal with that " john b said
"are you serious right now john b?" Juno asked
"am i wrong?" john b asked
"yeah you're wrong, using my own death against me like I asked for that? i didn't fucking ask for that john b. i didn't ask to be shot, I didn't ask to almost die and I didn't ask to be apart of this stupid fucking thing. since we have gotten back and we left poguelandia. you've changed and not for the better. who are you anymore?" she asked and he stared
"I'm your boyfriend juno, you know that" he said and she scoffed as she shook her head and ran a hand through her hair
"are you? because it doesn't feel like that anymore so call me when you're ready to tell the truth , oh and call me when you think you can be honest about one fucking thing with me" she stated and he stared as she walked off. he didn't know what to do, he wanted to go after her and apologize.
who was john b anymore? he didn't know either so when she asked. he froze, he didn't think anyone would notice the changes or the pain or the anger. he didn't think that juno would see how he was feeling or how he was coping but this was john b and juno and she saw through him. she saw the boy who missed his father, the boy who would lie for his dad.
she saw the person she loved and she saw the person she felt like she didn't know anymore and that hurt her more then she ever thought it would. juno went home and when she got there, there sarah was with saylor and they both turned to the girl
"we got into a fight" she said and saylor sighed as he walked up and hugged his sister. she sighed into his neck and let his shirt rub against her face. she wasn't crying no, she was just hurt. how could john b be so rude and harsh? she truly felt like she didn't know him anymore and even if she did , it wasn't true. none of it was true and she hated that. she hated the fact that john b couldn't be honest
"he said some rude shit and I told him to call me when he decides to be honest and tell me the truth" she told them as she sat down between the couple and they both nodded
"do you think you did the right thing?" saylor asked and she thought for a second
"he's not who I used to know. the john b that I fell in love with, the john b that would take me fishing, the john b that made my birthday cake. the john b that made sure my makeup was always off. the john b that I loved, this isn't him and I dont know where he went but I want him back" she stated
"does he know that?" sarah asked and juno nodded
"I told him I dont know who he is anymore sar. i didn't know what else to say, I was just so angry and hurt that I said the first thing that came to my mind and now I feel so alone" she stated and they all sighed
"you have us junie b" saylor told her and they hugged the girl.
at least they had each other. right?
