Elsie's POV

We got in much later than expected last night. Traffic picked up a lot once it hit around five o'clock, so a 3 hour's drive turned into a six-and-a-half-hour drive. By the time we got in last night even though it was close to nine, I was exhausted. I managed to get through my nighttime call with Halle before I passed out.
The only downside of going to sleep that early though is that you end up waking up at five in the morning. Although when I woke up I definitely didn't expect to have Harry clinging to my back. Once again I immediately felt a sense of comfort just by having him next to me. Even though I was planning on getting up and starting my morning early I found myself staying put because I didn't want to lose the feeling I always get when we start our days like this. I always thought I was crazy when waking up with Harry to that warmth spreading throughout my body but now I'm not sure how to feel about it.
I don't make a move for a good hour after I wake up to avoid disrupting Harry's sleep but around 6:30 I finally get the courage to stand up. Placing a pillow down where I once laid smiling at Harry snuggling up to it I open the door and head down the stairs into the kitchen. I head over to the fridge scanning it to see if there is anything of use to me before pulling out the orange juice and pouring myself a glass. Leaning against the counter I find myself getting lost in my own thoughts on trying to piece together the last week and a half of New York.
"Hey El," I jump at the voice looking up from the floor to see Louis walking into the room.
"Jesus-" I find myself taking in a large breath before speaking again, "Louis please warn a girl next time."
"Sorry, that was my bad. In my defense, I didn't think anyone would be awake right now." Nodding in understanding I let myself fall back into a quiet still not awake enough to have a full-on conversation. Louis sits on the other side of the room probably thinking the same thing as me but I was proven wrong when a couple of minutes into the silence I hear him call out through the room, "Can I ask you a question?" Nodding my head urging him to continue he sighs and walks over to me so he can stand on my other side.
"What's going on between you and Harry?" His question surprises me as never in a million years would I expect anyone to ask that.
"I don't really have an answer to that but I guess we're um-" taking in a breath to rack my thoughts together, "nothing?"
"People who have 'nothing' going on don't sleep in the same bed as each other when they don't have to." Well, he's got me there.
"I don't really have anything to tell you. Right now it's just kind of happening." I mean it's not like I'm trying to lie to him, it's just that I have nothing to tell him.
"Hey," another voice cuts off our conversation causing us both to look away from each other to see a very tired Niall walk through the kitchen entryway, "what are you guys up to this early?"
"Nothing. Don't worry about it."
"Talking about Harry and Elsie."
Looking over to Louis I bite my lip refraining from saying anything and looking back over to Niall with his brows raised at us. "What about El and Harry?" I smile at the use of my nickname coming from a new friend.
"Oh, Irish you should not be butting into anyone's love life considering you were flirting with our new friend Tessa as well as sleeping in the same bed as them!" My head snaps between the two boys as shock takes over my features.
"What!" I let out a low shout as never in a million years would I expect this.
But honestly thinking about it, they could work together.
