My heart sank to my feet as the rush of emotions drowned me and all inner thoughts. I fell to my knees, face still stuck in the shock of horror. Ahmed was lying there with a lifeless glow to his eyes, face covered in blood, and windows tainted with a little of it, too. In another car, a familiar figure was also there with his head on the steering wheel. I walked up to the car and peered in as I heard sirens wailing in the distance.

"Kaleb...," I sobbed. He had his head on the steering wheel, motionless. His  fingers twitched, making little to no movement.

The ambulance had arrived, and the paramedics pushed everyone back. I silently whispered the name of the hospital on the ambulance so I could quickly rush there afterward. They pulled Ahmed and Kaleb out of their cars, gently placing them onto the wheeled table. Then, they drove off. I fell to the ground and started crying. Everyone was in shock, wondering as to how this could happen.

"How could it happen," I whispered, "With the people I loved?" I looked up to see 3 pairs of feet in front of me. I looked up to see Valeria and Samantha in front of me with worried eyes, with Patrico who had a mere smirk on his face.

"Hey, so we saw what happened. Are you doing alright?" Val crouched down as Sam said that.

"I-I don't know what to think anymore, really," I cried out loud.

"Bruh, it's going to be alright, I promise," Val said, typically.

"Bruh, girls are so extra, I swear to god, this huevona bruh," Patrico whined. "Get up already." Val gave him a look, and Sam gave him a side eye. (dumb ass)

"Now, come on, let's go," Sam pulled me up to my feet, and Val smiled warmly at me whilst Patrico still had a disgusted look. I disregarded him. We walked back into the school where people were gathered, hushed whispers running through the halls.

"No, you know what?" I whispered loud enough to hear,"I am not going to school. I actually am going to run to the hospital. So, I'll catch you two later."

Patrico wiggled his finger, signaling a no, "No, no, no, why would you cut class just cause some guy you barely know is injured?"

"Pat, give her a break, okay?" Val grumbles. "It's clearly been a shock."

"Okay, let us know what happens. though, ok?," Sam asked.

"Okay, will do," I choke out amidst my crying.

And with that, I ran out of the double doors and to the nearest bus stop.

                                                                                         * * * * * * * *
As I ran into the hospital, the smell of rubbing alcohol filled my nostrils. The noises of machines beeping and telephones ringing echoed in my ears. I rush up to the recipient's desk, and the nurse looks up to me with a concerned look as she senses that I am worried. "Can I help you with anything, darling?"

"Um, is t-there...," My hands started shaking, "there an Ahmed Castella or Kaleb Ramirez admitted here like an hour ago?"

"Yes, honey, but who are you to them?" she raised an eyebrow.

"Well, to one, his ex-girlfriend, and the other, his best friend." I replied with desperation. I need to see Kaleb. Please just let me go, damn it.

"I'm sorry, you're not family. I can't help you with anything. When their families arrive, I'll see if I can let you through," she said apologetically.

"Can you please, please, tell me at least how they are doing?" I beg.

"Ahmed's condition appears to be stable, and Kaleb doesn't give consent for information to be given outside of family," the nurse shrugs. I nod solemnly and walk away with my head hung down.
