(I recommend listening to Apocalypse by Cigarettes After Sex while reading:))

Lix and his neighbor where sitting at a small lake and just hanging out.

"Felix...have you ever been in love?" The small boy asked while looking up at Lix with bright eyes.
Felix let out a small sigh.

"I think so.." he then answered and went back to ripping an old receipt that he had found from the bottom of his pocket.

"Really? With who?" The boy then asked.
"Just this one guy....I met him several years ago. It was summer... I had been taking walks on this field and one day.." Felix stopped to sigh again.

"One day he just appeared."
The little boy could see how the look in Felix's eyes changed. It looked almost sad.

"I asked him what he was doing there and he said that he'd been picking flowers for fun. I told him the flowers looked beautiful and without a doubt he gifted them to me."

Felix was truly travelling back to that summer night. He could almost feel the slight wind on his skin.

"We just sat there and talked for hours. He told me his name was Hyunjin. He was a poet. I never cared for poetry, but the way he used his words was just truly terrific."

"What did you talk about?"
"Just everything. Life, you know? The way he saw this world was just like mine. We were trapped in this endless space together. Every minute I spent with him was like a dream." Felix started to tear up a bit.

"Oh, no. Are you crying?" the child asked with a worried tone.
"Nah, it's ok."

Felix and the boy sat there in silence for a bit.

"You know what was the best part about him?" Lix then broke the silence.
"What?"
"He had this thing that every time we'd meet he would give something he had made himself. Like paper flowers, letters, poems, cookies and even things like matching rings." Felix explained.

"Do you still have them?"

"Mostly, yeah. I saved everything I could. We met every day on that very field. It became like our place. Meeting him was the best part of each day. We were in our own world. It felt like anything that happened there kinda stayed there. Like it was a dream outside of the reality. I can't even explain it."

"Was he handsome?" The kid then asked and gave Felix a small smirk.

"Very...oh my you should have seen him. He had long brown fluffy hair. His eyes just looked like they held the whole galaxy in them. He was tall. And the best hugger."

"Sounds weird to me. How can you hold a galaxy in your eyes?"
"You'll get it one day." Lix said.

"He'd also say all these sweet things like 'In an endless garden I'll always pick you' or 'I hope I'll forever live in your memories.'"

"Well did he?"
"Live in them? Yes. All the time. Actually I haven't thought about them in a while until now."
"Why not?"
"I've kinda locked them in this imaginary drawer. To remain as remarkable as they are."

"But then...why don't you love him anymore?"

Felix's heart skipped a beat. The darkness had fallen around him.
"I- well we....uhm."
The words were stuck in his throat.

"I guess what I'm tryna say is that...I love him. Still do. Every day, every second, all the time. But he just can't give that love back anymore..." Felix felt a tear falling down his cheek. Breathing was suddenly harder.
