Secret

The school day had just ended and Hyunjin was walking home with his friends Chan, Changbin, Seungmin and Minho.
It was a pretty warm day and summer was just around the corner.

"Hey Hyunjin, isn't that Felix?" Chan asked and pointed at a blonde boy not far away.

"Oh, yeah it is."

"Are you guys not friends anymore? You used to be besties for years." Seungmin asked.

"I don't know. He just quit talking to me. Honestly I have no idea why. Didn't bother to ask since he probably just didn't care about me anymore." Hyunjin said while eating his lollypop that he had found unwrapped from the bottom of his backbag.

"That's weird."

"Yall should really talk about it." Chan said.

"Nah, it's been like six months already." Hyunjin denied.

"Whatever. I'd dump you too if I was him" Seungmin said and took out his phone.

"Seungmin..." Chan said tryna get him to behave for once.

Next day

Hyunjin had thought about Chan's words over night. He wanted to talk, but why would Lix just stop talking to Hyunjin without a reason unless they just grew apart.

"Maybe I'll ask him if I seem him in school." Hyunjin thought and left.

In school

Hyunjin was on his lunch break with Chan.

"Have you talked to him yet?" Chan asked.

"I didn't even say that I would."

"I know you want to."

"Well true, but I think it might be awkward."

"I can help. Let's all meet at my place and have like a party kinda thingie. I know Lix from my art class so I can invite him." Chan said.

"I guess..."

After school Hyunjin was walking home alone this time.
He was thinking about how he would bring up the situation between him and Felix.
Lix had already agreed to join them at Chan's place tonight.

"So umm...why did you just dissappear?......uugh this won't work!"
Hyunjin tried to practice his words.

"Oh hi!" Someone said.
Hyunjin turned around and saw Lix.

"Hi!"

"You're coming to Chan's place, right?" Lix asked.

"Yeah! I am."

"Awesome...I-I'll see you there." Felix said and just mysteriously left.

"Why is he like that? So weird" Hyunjin thought.
Felix didn't seem mad or anything...but he just left as if he would have realized something.

Later at night Hyunjin had got to Chan's place. There weren't much people. Just the closest ones.
Chan, Hyunjin, Lix, Changbin, Han, Minho, Seungmin and Jeongin.

"You came!" Chan greeted happily when Hyunjin stepped in.

"Obviously?" Hyunjin said since he didn't even have any other option.

"I'm tryna play it cool." Chan said and looked at Felix.

"Oh cmoon, this isn't some kinda secret mission??" Hyunjin said and joined the others.

Hyunjin and Chan sat down on the couch where the other were too.
Hyunjin ended up sitting next to Felix thanks to Chan.

"Should we play something?" Chan asked.

"Sure. Any ideas?" Hyunjin answered.

"Truth or drink!" Han yelled.

"Not gonna happen. We ain't 16." Minho said.

"Let the kid have fun." Seungmin said.

"Fine, but I'm not in." Minho announced and took the last sip of his drink.

Sometimes Hyunjin wondered how Han and Minho could be a thing. They were so different. Han was always so energetic and fun while Minho was super chill and serious. I guess they bring out the best in each other. The only time when Minho seems to really have fun is around Han. They complete each other. Han is the extrovert to Minho's introvert. The sun to his moon. It was actually really sweet.

"Ok. Let's start with Changbin. Do you like someone in this room?" Han asked.

"Oh plea-"

"Let the kids have fun." Chan whispered to Minho making him stop the groaning.

Changbin looked around a bit and his eyes locked at Felix. Then he grabbed his drink and took a sip.

"Oh....I see.." Han said.

"Now, Felix. Same question." Han was clearly tryna find out if there was something going on with those two.

Lix was quiet. He seemed really nervous too.

"You know what? I'll just-"
Lix was about to get up meanwhile Hyunjin was trying to get his drink causing it to fall on Felix's lap.

"Shit! Well that's just great." Lix said. He got up and stormed to the kitchen.

"I'll go..." Hyunjin said letting everyone know that he's handling the situation.

Hyunjin went after Lix and saw him cleaning his clothes while almost crying.

"I'm sorry...I didn't mean to-"

"Doesn't matter Hyunjin...it's not what you think."

"Lix, I know you have a problem with me. And that's ok. I'd just like to know what have I done?"

"No Hyunjin. You're not the problem."

"What do you mean?"

"Hyunjin...well doesn't matter. It wouldn't change anything anyway."

Hyunjin got closer to Lix.

"Tell me. Please."

"I like you, ok?! Yeah it's stupid! Yeah, I know you're not gay and that I ruined our friendship completely! I had to stop it before I'd get more hurt! It was better for me to just end things than live knowing that I'll never have you the way I want. Seeing you every day. Hearing how you found a new person that you're talking to. Listening to your stupid love problems when I'm there too!! Suffering twice as much!" Felix said crying his heart out.

"W-what?" Was all Hyunjin could say.

"I know, you think I'm crazy."

"N-no! Not at all! I mean...I guess I understand."
Hyunjin had never thought of Felix that way. He had always thought that the feeling he had for him was platonic. Pure friendship. But could there be more to it?
This was the moment he realized. The reason he missed Felix so much was......because he loved him.

Hyunjin hurried to hug Lix.

"I'm so sorry! I never realized. But I think....that you're the one."

"What?" Lix asked just as confused as Hyunjin was few minutes ago.

Hyunjin let go of Lix and gave him a kiss.
