The Head of Royal Security called the meeting to order at Lunden's request. She wanted to get this over with and decide against action before midday. She never wanted to think about even the possibility of rebellion. There couldn't be any unrest. Of course not. Someone had probably seen a harmless gathering and thought it was a plot. No danger. And Lunden believed herself. Until the witness to the unrest was called to speak. His name was Gregory, and he was a blacksmith that lived near the castle where the plot was supposedly discovered. He was asked to present his story in full detail. "Yer Majesty, I'd been goin' to the castle ta deliver some shoes for yer horses there, when I heard a real chilly voice say "down wit' Queen Lunden!" So I snuck around the buildin' and looked in at the gates. I saw a mighty angry group, yer Majesty! They were all listenin' to one lady with a nasty expression. I'd seen Lady Emi around them places, but never like that. She was sayin' all stuff about dethronin' ya! An' her sister was watchin'!" The Head of Royal Security looked at Lunden as if to say "Now you believe me?" Lunden looked back at him with a distant cold look. Nobody was going to tell her " I told you so". But there did seem to be danger. And Gregory had no reason to walk all this way if there were not something wrong. Lunden knew she would have to unravel this a little more before accusing Emilia or Alexandra of treason. But she felt even her guards could not do this job properly. She pretended to be very thoughtful, and said she would think about what to do next. The guards dismissed everyone and escorted Lunden back to her room. Once the heavy door to her room was shut, Lunden raced to her dresser. She lifted her key from her concealed pocket and found the box that she needed. In it was a keyhole, and as Lunden fitted the key in, she smiled. She knew people who could help her.
This is Gregory the Blacksmith.
