Chapter 3

Alarm ringing

I stop my alarm and sit on my bed stretching my arms to see Stella bed empty guess she didn't come back last night. Eh she does what she want. I get up and look through my drawers to find something to wear and get changed.

As I'm about to walk out of my room I hear a knock on the door.

Me: come in

Terra(open the door): hey uh weird question (see the tattoo I have on my side) nice tattoo

Me: uh thanks and what did ya want to ask me ?

Terra: oh uh yeah can I change here if your done ?

Me(give her a small smile): uh yeah I was done I'll get out and ya can change

Terra(sigh in relief): thanks Crystal

Me(walk out of my room): No problem

I walk out of my room with my leather jacket in my arms and I put it on with my phone in my hand to see Stella, Bloom and Musa talking and it looks like Stella is angry.

Stella: Don't tell me to calm down and don't use my title as an insult

Me: wait are you actually a princess?

Stella: yes I am actually. My mum is the queen and (look at Bloom) the ring you lost is one of the Crown Jewels of Solaria now that might not mean much for people from the First World so feel free to ask your suite-mate how big of a screw-up that is

Aisha: Almost as big as giving it to her in the first place. Dowling has the creature locked up

Me: which ya would know if ya were here last night when she gave us an earful

Musa: and if people knew there was a Burned One even in the First World temporarily disaster

Bloom(look at Stella): Well I didn't tell her that I lost the ring and I'm sure if we do then-

Stella: we will do no such a thing I will figure it out after class but for now no one says anything to anyone (walk to our room door and turn around just before walking in) and can someone make sure that Terra knows that ? She can never keep her mouth shut

Terra(finishing getting dressed): Got it

We wait for Terra to be done and start to walk to the Stone circle. We get there and sit down waiting for miss Dowling to get here. She finally gets here and we start the class.

Dowling: Magic lives in the very fabric of nature and here in our circle of stone it's magnified the vessel tests your ability to channel that magic later you may learn to connect with other elements but your first year is all about the element you were born with (look at Terra) Earth (as Terra is making a plant) Soil, sand, rock and all manner of plant life. (Look at Aisha) Water. (as Aisha make some water float in the vessel) the lakes and oceans of the world or the molecules that exist in all organisms around us. (Look at Musa) the Mind (as Musa make some multicolore bubble in the vessel) thoughts, memories, dreams (look at a girl wearing blue) Air (as she make some sparkling lightning) Speed, temperature, sound. It's power and electrical properties. Whatever your element the emotions underlying it are the same for all fairies (look at me) ice

I get up and walk up to the vessel and look at the Headmistress.

Dowling: Open yourself up to the magic of the world around you (as I take a deep breath) push past your doubts.

I put my hands above the vessel and concentrate on making an icy snowflake. After a few seconds of concentrating I open my eyes as they turn a turquoise color (media)

I smile at myself happy to have been able to do something.

Dowling(as I go sit back down): very good Crystal now Bloom it's your turn. Fire

Bloom walks up to the vessel and put her hands on it. She take a few deep breaths and I can see a flickering fire but it doesn't stay then student start to whisper I think it's de-concentrating her even more.

Dowling(see her deconcentrated): focus on clear positive feelings

Girl(whisper to someone besides her): why is it taking so long

Aisha: how about your parents ? Focus on how much you love them ?

Bloom(look at Dowling): it's not working

Dowling: stop thinking magic comes from-

Bloom: emotions I've been listening I know what I'm supposed to do

Musa(quietly): this is a disaster

Bloom(get frustrated): it's not happening can you please move on ?

Not long after class is dismissed and since I had a small break I decided to go see the specialists train. I walk to the training area and see Stella talking to a tall not bad looking blond guy I chuckle at that and look around and see Riven talking with another guy I walk up to them.

Riven(sees me): it's all about strategy and I got the perfect person with who to show you. She'll probably beat me like yesterday but still you'll learn something first year. (Get up on the ring) hey Crystal wanna help me out to show first year how to defeat an enemy with strategy.

Me(smirk): You know I'll put you down in seconds like yesterday right ?

Riven(sigh): oh I know but I'm willing to make this sacrifice

He give me his hand, I take it and he help me up once I'm on the ring I take my leather jacket off and get in stance.

Riven(getting up groaning): still hurt just like yesterday (look at the first year) see how she defeated me

First year(chuckles): yeah I saw how she kicked your ass (look at me) I'm Dane nice to meet you

Me: Crystal now Dane I suggest ya remember what I just showed ya because it will be forever useful to ya

Dane: Can you show me a thing or two before lunch ?

Me: yeah sure come on up

Riven(fake being hurt): ouch stealing my sparing partner Dane I'll get back at you for that

Me(chuckles): oh shut up dumbass

Riven(chuckles and get down of the ring): alright I'll leave you two to it I'm starving see ya later Chris

Me: see ya later Riv

Riven leave and like promised I showed a thing or two to Dane before going to eat.
