A/N: "Bold underlined italic" is for when they are signing; "Bold Italic" is for when they are speaking Na'vi.
Third Person POV...
The next day, Ji'su, Ao'nung, Rotxo, and Tsireya were at the reef with the Sully kids to teach them diving. The four forest Na'vi were mesmerized by their surroundings. Beautiful corals we're scattered everywhere, colorful fish swam around in different directions. The first few minutes, Tuk, Neteyam, and Lo'ak, the boy who has a crush on Tsireya, struggled to hold their breath. Kiri, the second oldest Sully child, on the other hand, held her breath for way longer.
"Swim with us," Tsireya signed.
Tuk, Neteyam, and Lo'ak couldn't understand what she signed. Ji'su enthusiastically motioned for them to follow them, accidentally hitting Ao'nung's forehead. The group swam along the reef, before Neteyam, Lo'ak, and Tuk swam up to the surface to catch their breaths.
"What's wrong with them?" Ao'nung signed.
"They are bad divers," signed Rotxo.
"Hajima ("stop that" in Korean). They're learning," signed Ji'su.
Ao'nung rolled his eyes, before Ji'su, Rotxo, and Tsireya went up to the surface.
"Are you guys okay?" Tsireya asked.
"You're too fast! Wait for us," Tuk complained.
"Just breathe," Ji'su replied.
Ao'nung came up to the surface.
"You are not good divers. I mean, you maybe good at swinging through trees, but," he said, before Ji'su smacked him on the head.
"Oh, come on. We don't speak this finger talk," said Lo'ak.
Ji'su chuckled.
"You mean "sign language"?" she asked.
Rotxo looked around, and realized that Kiri was missing.
"Hang on a minute. Where's Kiri?" he asked, with genuine concern in his voice.
They looked around, and couldn't find her. In reality, she was exploring the rest of the reef. After they found Kiri, Ji'su, Ao'nung, Neteyam, Rotxo, Kiri, Lo'ak, Tsireya, and Tuk went to the shallower end. Ao'nung made a calling sound with his mouth while clicking his tongue. Then, several creatures
swam toward them, circling around the forest Na'vi.
"These are Ilu. If you want to live here, you have to ride," he explained.
The Sully's got on one of their own Ilu's, and the Omaticaya were respectively taught by who the Metkayina chose to teach. Ji'su helped Tuk, Neteyam was taught by Ao'nung (for obvious reasons), Rotxo helped teach Kiri, and Tsireya taught Lo'ak.
"Make the bond gently," Tsireya said to Lo'ak, who held his braid closely to the Ilu's queue.
Lo'ak aggressively tightened the bond, and the Ilu cried in pain. Then, the Ilu swam off, and Lo'ak made this face:
as the Ilu sped off. Just looking at Lo'ak ride the Ilu made Ji'su want to laugh hysterically. But, Skimwings are a lot harder to deal with than Ilu. As Kiri was underwater, again, an Ilu swam towards her and nudged her neck gently. Meanwhile, at the surface, Tsireya and Ji'su helped Tuk feed an Ilu. They gently stroked the creature as Tuk fed her with fish.
"I love her already!" she exclaimed happily.
Back underwater, the Ilu that nudged Kiri swam around her, squeaking for her to get on. Kiri connected her braid to the Ilu's queue, and the two rode off. Unlike Lo'ak, Kiri showed no struggle at all. She was able to catch up with Ji'su, Tsireya, and Tuk, who were riding on their own Ilu. Back at the surface, The three Metkayina siblings, plus Rotxo, were teaching the Omaticaya siblings how to hold their breath a lot longer underwater.
To be able to hold your breath for a long time underwater, breathe through your stomach, and slow down your heartbeat. With a fast heartbeat, you will only be able to hold your breath for around 10-15 seconds. After the breathing exercise, the Omaticaya siblings and their Metkayina friends rode off with their Ilu into the sunset.
