A Stone-Grey City

"Bulbie, have you found anything?" Fox asked as Bulbie ran ahead.

"Bulba!" Bulbie cried out. Fox ran over to see Samus's Squirtle sitting down on the top step of a small set of stairs leading to two flowerbeds, crying its eyes out. Bulbie sat down next to it on its right, wrapping its vines around it, and Fox sat next to it on its left.

"Hey, Squirtle, I'm sure Samus didn't mean to offend you like that," Fox smiled. Squirtle looked up at Fox and proceeded to hug his side. Fox pet Squirtle's head.

"Char!" cried a voice suddenly. Fox stood up and Bulbie ran over to the sad-looking Charmander that had appeared in front of them while they weren't looking before wiping a tear away from the fire dragon's face with one of its vines.

"You too?" Fox asked as he, Squirtle and Pikachu walked over towards them. Fox knelt down in front of Charmander and pet it. He knew he wanted to scream at the other two when they would eventually find him.

A few minutes went by before the group heard a scuffling noise coming from the south entrance as two small rabbit-like Pokémon, one purple and one blue, dashed out, shooting blasts of purple liquid in the direction of Fox and the Pokémon he was looking after. Bulbie fainted and Fox and the rest of the Pokémon began to feel ill. Fox held his hands to his snout. Pikachu leapt into the air and discharged a burst of electricity while calling out "Pika... CHUUU!" The electricity struck the two rabbit Pokémon, with the purple one having cracking electricity around it. Charmander and Squirtle looked at each other and nodded as they held hands and leapt into the air. Charmander sent a burst of fire towards the blue rabbit Pokémon with a loud "CHAR!" while Squirtle sent a burst of water towards the purple rabbit Pokémon with a loud "SQUIRT!" and both rabbit Pokémon fainted.

"You two are mine!" Fox cried out, still weak from the poison. He took two Poké Balls out of his pocket and made sure he had one in each hand before throwing them at the unconscious rabbit Pokémon. But the Poké Balls weren't trying to catch the rabbit Pokémon. Instead, they knocked the rabbit Pokémon on their heads and fell to the ground, shattering. "Maybe that's why they say to catch 'em when they're weak, not unconscious!" Fox sighed. He picked up Bulbie, Charmander, Squirtle and Pikachu and walked over to the rabbit Pokémon. Would he really be able to carry all six Pokémon? He could hardly manage four. Maybe if he returned Bulbie and Pikachu to their balls...

But before Fox had the chance to think further, he could see out of his upper peripheral vision that Falcon and Samus had arrived (finally) and seemed to be clinging on to each other. If he wasn't such a hardcore shipper of the two of them he probably would've stayed mad at them. But the annoying thing was, he couldn't remain mad at them if they were holding onto each other like that. So he placed the Pokémon in his arms on the ground and returned Bulbie and Pikachu to their balls before running over towards Falcon and Samus, careful not to step on or trip over Charmander, Squirtle or either of the rabbit Pokémon and held his hands out. Usually he wouldn't have tried to ruin a romantic moment between the two of them but even he knew that the two of them weren't in the best condition here. Falcon's right hand took Fox's left hand and Samus's left hand took Fox's right hand, while Falcon and Samus remained holding on to each other for support.

"What happened? You two look like you've been beaten up!" Fox commented.

"We beat each other up. You don't look much better," Samus responded. She sounded unsurprisingly weak.

"You know, I'm not sure what I was expecting. Oh, and, er... we sorta got poisoned. But don't worry, Charmander and Squirtle knocked the poisonous rabbit Pokémon out so I don't think they'll be able to hurt you," Fox smiled. Falcon and Samus let go of Fox's hands (paws?) and ran over to the rabbit Pokémon, only letting go of each other when they fell to their knees in front of the rabbit Pokémon. Falcon cuddled the purple one and Samus cuddled the blue one. It was then that Fox realised why the Poké Balls weren't working on the rabbit Pokémon.
