"Not that I want to." 5.04.15

"Haley Sulser, an eighth grader at Grant Middle School, has been one my my best friends since last year. She moved to my school in seventh grade and almost immediately, we somehow became friends. We were both going through a rough time. We were both in the band, both percussionists. It was kind of destined for us to become friends. To this day, Haley is one of my best friends. Actually, the weekend before I wrote this chapter, I finally got to see her after almost two years. I haven't seen her since she moved. Though we hadn't talked much since she left, we recently started talking again through Facebook. That's the thing about social media. Even though everyone says it's ruining this generation, it's also bringing us closer together. If we don't have someone's phone number, find them on Facebook. Need someone's address? Direct message them on twitter. Obviously, some (most) people go a little over board, including me at times, but sometimes you really just need to pretend to text someone to get rid of the awkwardness."
