I woke up to the Phineas and Ferb Theme Song, like usual, at five a.m., like usual. I showered, got dressed, did my hair, make-up, etc., got a visitor, and then our wake-up call. C and Tashia got up and got ready. I was tired as shit. They got ready and we went down to breakfast where they ate a normal person amount. I ate two slices of sausage and a tiny cup of milk. I also got peanut butter which I ended up putting in my pocket and forgetting about for a few hours.
We first went to the United States Capitol building. We looked at statues and papers on walls and pictures and then played on touch screen thingies that had information on the Senators. I got interested and decided to find Bernie Sanders, who I am rooting for for president in 2016, on the machine. I couldn't find him. Found out yesterday that it was because he's from Vermont. I never got quite that far.
We went on a tour of the building next.
Next we had lunch. We again had pizza. We went souvenir shopping at a place near Ford's Theatre directly after. I gave a homeless guy down the road money.
I know these chapters about D.C. are terribly written, I'm sorry.
We went to the United States National Cathedral, which was cool.
To be honest, I don't know if there's a god. I am open minded to the idea of a god, but at this point, I believe more in science.
Though the Smithsonian museums were cool, my feet hurt like hell, which made me just want to sit. The science museum was still amazing.
It was at this location that Tashia started on her quest to take selfies with cute guys. A couple of people our age said hi to us and hugged us. A couple of points I want to make: A) I was confused. B) That girl was cute af. C) I was confused.
I reminded Tashia about her regret of not getting a selfie with the guy at the Kennedy Center the night before. She dropped her book bag in the middle of the floor and took off in a sprint. She got the selfie.
We had to wait outside to make sure everyone was there. I sat on a rock bench for like half a minute before my friend, Anthony, sat next to me and teased me for a bit.
We rode the bus to an underground mall where we ate at King Street Blues and sang 'Happy Retirement' to our social studies teacher. He's not really retiring. He's leaving for the last two days of school and not coming back until two months into the next school year.
After dinner, we went to the World War II Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, and Korean War Veterans Memorial. the World War II Memorial was amazing and absolutely beautiful. It was by far my favorite of the four, followed by the Korean.
By the end of those, it was nine thirty and I was tired as shit. I was ready for bed.
Until we got into the hotel room.
I tried to make popcorn and I struggled with that and we sat in the bathroom and threw food and told stories and had an overall, really good time. I think my friends learned a lot about me on this trip.
They learned that I can't walk, stand, or exist, that I am annoying af (I kid you not, I annoyed myself on this trip), and that I enjoy mugs. I love mugs. I own several mugs.
