"Great! Then it's settled! You will start tomorrow, just come after school and up to floor 94 when you get there. We can discuss your hours more tomorrow." Mr. Stark exclaims excitedly. He then pounds on the divider to the front of the limo and shouts, "Alright Happy, let's get going." He then turns towards both me and Peter. "Where do you kids live? We can just drop you off."
I freeze. I hear Peter give him his address and I start to panic. I don't want him to know that I am an orphan, he would treat me so differently, everyone does; they all get that disgusting pitiful look in their eyes and then don't do a single thing about it. I hate it so much.
"What about you kid?"
"You can just drop me off at my job, I would just need to walk there right away anyways." I confidently say. It is times like these when I am very thankful for the natural skill I have for lying.
My shift actually doesn't start for another hour, but I am sure Beth would certainly not be upset about getting off earlier. And working for another hour at that dump is better than getting that horrible infuriating look of pity and judgment.

After we drop Peter off I give him the address of the sketchy, nearly falling-apart, gas station where I work at. As soon as we pull up Mr. Stark pulls down his sunglasses that most likely cost more than all of my belongings combined, and blanches at the crumbling building in front of us.
"This is where you work?" He asks and I nod as I grab my backpack and start to get out of the limo, which is a great contrast parked in front of the shabby building that quite literally has bullet holes covering its walls almost every foot and smells like every drug imaginable. "Well, I am glad you will not work here after tomorrow. Are you sure you are going to be alright tonight?" Mr. Stark asks with a look of horror on his face.
I chuckle slightly and shake my head as I get out of the limo. "Yeah, I'll be fine Mr. Stark." I close the car door and wave as they drive off.
I then walk into the gas station and am met with Beth death glaring at me while obnoxiously smacking the gum that she is loudly chewing, reminding me of one of those bitchy bimbos that you always see in movies. "What was that?" She asks in her nasally venomous voice.
I simply shrug, not wanting to explain why anyone who would dare take a job here would show up in a limo. "I can take over and you can leave early if you would like." I say tiredly.
She rolls her eyes and shrugs, picks up her large bag, and struts out. I take my seat behind the counter and prepare myself for a very long night.

It is around 10 pm now and I am so incredibly bored. But, that boredom is soon cured, even though it is not in the best way when a very stereotypical-looking robber bursts in through the doors.
He shakily points a gun at me as he screams, muffled through his ski mask. "Give me all the money! I have a gun!"
"Oh geez, congrats man, I didn't notice. Is that even a real gun? It looks like you got it off of wish or something." I say emotionlessly, already used to this experience. It usually happens at least twice a week, no wonder this place can't seem to make a profit.
The robber then aims the gun off to the side and fires it. "Does that seem like a real gun?" He taunts me and then, being cocky, aims it back at me.
I roll my eyes not even flinching at the shot. "I honestly couldn't care less about the money, you can have it. Just don't you DARE ever aim a gun at me." I say with venom dripping from my voice.
He laughs and slams a bag down on the counter. "Just put the money in the bag, bitch! Otherwise, I will aim a bullet right between your eyes!"
I'm too tired for this shit.
I grab the knife that I have hidden in my boot as I jump over the counter and push the gun away from the robber. Another shot goes off as he pulls the trigger on instinct, but within seconds I have him disarmed and kick the gun away as I kick out the robber's legs, push him to the ground, and put him in a lock from behind while holding my knife to his neck.
"You know it's not as charming as you might think to hold a gun to someone's head, it's actually quite rude."
I have always been really good at fighting, especially with knives. It was just something I started to practice after I got tired of getting mugged constantly and not being able to defend myself, and I just seemed to pick up on it really quickly.
I pull up the now whimpering man off the ground, still keeping his arms in a lock, and push him out the door where I then kick out his knees again and shove him to the floor as I start to reach for my phone to call the police to take him off of my hands. However, just as I am about to, there is a thud as Spiderman suddenly swings in and lands right in front of me in a poor attempt at a superhero pose. Superhero poses really were quite ridiculous and in my opinion, just made them look like posers.
(A/n - yes, of course, Finnley and Yelena are going to meet later on, and yes of course they are instantly going to be besties, don't worry your precious little gorgeous head. I, your amazing author, will feed you all the glorious chaotic content with all the amazing characters that you all crave.)
"Don't worry mam, your friendly neighborhood spiderman is here! I heard-" he then finally seems to look up at me and I see the eyes on his mask go wide. "O-oh- hi... mam... uuhhh- I heard gunshots, but it seems that you have this all handled..."
"Yeah, it's all good, I was just going to call the cops to come to pick this bastard up." The said bastard then grumbles some more in the pathetic heap that he is on the floor.
I suddenly jump up slightly as I remember something. "Wait! Here, just hold him for a second, I need to get something!" I say as I shove the bastard over to spiderman so I can run inside and grab something from my bag.
"Ah ha!" I shout as I finally locate the two Spiderman happy meal toys after digging around in my backpack. I then run out and happily hand them over to Spiderman. "I was going to put these on the shrine, but since you're here..."
He takes them and laughs. "Thank you, I will treasure this forever." he says in between his laughs.
Soon after, the cops finally show up and take away the bastard after asking me a few questions. After they leave Spiderman then turns to me. "Alright, well, make sure to stay safe tonight."
"Sir yes sir," I say with a mock solute.
He nods then shoots a web and starts to swing away. As he does, he shouts back at me "Bye Finnley! See you later!"
Wait, I never told him my name...
