Colin Bridgerton was know as 'the heartbreak prince' if you were to ask him why, he'd say he doesn't know.
If you were to ask Penelope Featherington, she'd say it's because he's a playboy.
The two used to be best friends. But when Penelope moved to New York at the age of 14, she never heard from Colin. And it broke her. Then she went on to find out that it was because he had a girlfriend.
The Bridgerton's had a high reputation. They were the royal family, after all. But they did get themselves into drama every now and then. And that's why Colin Bridgerton was going to boarding school.
"Boarding school will do you good! You'll get out of the light, you'll be able to be around new people," Anthony tried to reason with him.
"I don't want to go, Anthony!" Colin shouted to him.
"Well it's not a choice, I already enrolled you. You're going," Anthony replied. "Your bags are already packed, you leave in an hour."
"But Anthony, New York? Really?" Colin questions him.
"Yes, that's the whole point of why you're meeting new people," Anthony was fed up with saying the same things over again.

Colin walked into his dorm room to see a redhead facing towards the mirror, applying some type of makeup. Colin knew that person from anywhere.
"Penelope?" Colin asked.
She turned around and smiled lightly.
"Hi," Penelope replied.
"What are you doing in here?" Colin questioned.
"I'm your roommate," Penelope whispered.

"Penny, your new roommate is the prince!?" Harry whisper shouted.
"Oh my gosh, why are you making it sound like it's so important," Penelope replied.
"Because it is? He's the prince, Penelope," Harry says.
"So I'm not important I hear?" Colin asks, smirking lightly.
"I never said that," Penelope smiled.
Colin chuckled and walked to another table where he sat with some people he met that day.
"Cressida Cowper? He's sitting with Cressida Cowper?" Harry asks.
"What did you expect? Everyone is gonna want to hang out with royalty," Penelope replied.

"So when are you gonna tell him we know each other?" Colin asked.
"Who? Harry?" Penelope questions back, he nods. "I don't know, does it really matter?"
"Does that mean he takes my girl from me?" Colin tries not to smile but he does anyways.
"First of all, I'm not your girl. You haven't talked to me in years, and as much as I'd like our friendship to go back to the way it was, it won't. At least not in a few hours. Second of all, Harry is my sister's boyfriend," Penelope replied.
"Your sister has a boyfriend?" Colin sounds in such disbelief that Penelope can't help but giggle.
"I know, I did not think Prudence could pull someone that's an actual good person,"
"Prudence?" Colin basic shouts and Penelope laughs again. "Prudence? Like your sister Prudence, is dating Harry?"
"Yes," Penelope keep giggling at his reaction.
