Ages: There are three main milestones in someone's life in this universe. Age 4, once they reach their 4th birthday everyone excluding the 0s gets an ability. Age 20, you're legally an adult. Age 25, you stop aging physically.
There are also some individuals known as the Ancient ones, but they are very much hidden from the public and I don't want to spoil it but let's just say that they are very ancient as the name suggests.
Successions: All of the countries in this world are Kingdoms ruled by Kings and Queens. Here is the Rule to Succession regardless of the Kingdom.
If there is a heir that is a 7, they are first in line, it goes by abilities meaning 7s are first, then 5s and then 4s. If two children have the same ability then the older one is ahead in the line to Succession. If a second 7 is there then they are ahead of their other siblings.
Example:
A King or Queen has 4 children. A 13 year old 5, a 11 year old 4, a 10 year old 7 and a 7 year old 5. The line of Succession would be the 7 as the heir, then the 13 year old 5 as second, then the 7 year old 5 as third and finally the 11 year old 4 last.
Now if that King or Queen later had another child and they turned out to be a 7 then the line of Succession would look something like this:
The older 7, the younger 7, the older 5, the younger 5 and last the 4.
This is the reason Prince Elric mentioned that he would be King some day even though he had an older brother.
