the way they meet the next time is unexpected.
cram school ends earlier than usual so a group of hana's friends from the academy decide to get snacks at a convenience store so with nothing better to do, she tags along.
she's sitting outside waiting patiently for them when she sees him about to go in.
she doesn't know why but she finds herself calling out to him.
"heeseung!" she almost shouts, her hand held up to get him to see her.
he turns in surprise but smiles when he sees her sitting there. she smiles in response too.
"you startled me" he says while he takes a seat across hers.
"sorry. i got too excited" she admits sheepishly and he chuckles.
"are you here alone?"
her eyes flicker to the window of the store and she can see her friends laugh as they try to decide what to buy.
"no" she answers. "my friends from cram school are inside"
he nods and she notices what he's wearing. she's never seen him in casual clothes before but she thinks his style is cute. if ever anyone can consider an all-black outfit cute.
she also catches the insane amount of sweat he's drenched in. he looks like a wet cat and she chuckles a bit at the analogy.
he gives her a confused look.
"did you run?" she asks in between laughs.
when he realizes what she means, he can't help but laugh along with her too.
"maybe" he answers vaguely.
the truth is that he's been holed up in the practice room of the company he's training in, big hit entertainment, practicing for hours on end and is only now getting a break. for some reason though, he doesn't feel pushed to disclose that information to her.
"why? do i look bad?"
he doesn't know if it's her stare but he suddenly feels incredibly self-aware and a bit fidgety.
