red ginseng is always the best.

this is what hana tells herself as she pays for the box of red ginseng extract sitting in a bag on the counter.

their chaperones had taken them into town and she had decided it was the perfect time to get something for her mother and little brother too.

after a while, she'd settled on ginseng for her mom but she still couldn't decide on what to get her brother.

what did little boys even like?

she thinks of getting extra help. maybe heeseung would know what to do.

she thanks the cashier once more, takes the bag, and leaves the shop in search of the tall boy.

she pulls out her phone and sends him a quick text just before someone taps her shoulder.

"there you are! i've been looking everywhere for you" kyungjoon says, a lopsided smile on his face.

"did anything happen?" she asks, half-listening for an answer as her eyes are still on her phone.

"not really. i just wanted to see you" he answers in a low tone and her eyes snap to his.

she's at a loss for words at the sudden shift in the atmosphere. she doesn't have to say much though because soon, one of his friends comes to whisk him away.

"i'll see you later, okay?" he tells her right before he leaves and she can only nod mindlessly.

she soon snaps herself out of her daze and shakes her head. she's sure the statement was innocent. she was probably just reading too much into it anyway.

in that moment, a reply from heeseung comes in.

it says he's by a store nearby so she pushes the thoughts of kyungjoon to the back of her mind and heads there.

they settle on a nintendo switch.

luckily, heeseung knew a lot about games, and hana had recognized the console too. she's sure her younger brother had mentioned it before, something along the lines of all the cool kids in class having one.

she smiles at the thought of her younger brother getting all excited when he finally receives one himself. though it's a bit pricey, the image of her smiling brother pushes her to buy it anyway.
