Part 3
Robin had pulled out of the drive before you could even respond. You stood clutching the ring tight in your hand.
No one is allowed to touch his rings huh..
You smirked to yourself before turning, light on your toes, and headed back into the house. You slept easy as the silver skull ring sat on your beside table.
The next morning you woke up early, around 7am. You got up, made breakfast and sat down in front of the TV deliberating what you would do to make yourself busy for the day. Robin and Steve were at work, the kids were at school, you didn't exactly know Eddie well enough yet to hang out one on one plus he was likely working too. You decided on taking a walk down to the mall to see if anywhere was looking for new staff. For one you were bored and two your inheritance fund would eventually dry up so getting a job was probably the best idea.
A couple of hours later you made your way to the mall, walking past the music store on the way. You debated popping in for a few minutes to see if Eddie was working but you stopped yourself. You literally met yesterday and although there seemed to be a bit of flirtation going on and a lot of physical attraction on your side, you didn't know the guy, not really...and you didn't want to come across as desperate, so you walked on. But not without glancing in through the window. He wasn't there, it was a girl. A very pretty, dark haired girl with a few tattoos sprinkled across her arms. You couldn't help the feeling of disappointment at not seeing Eddie through that window, but what you hadn't expected was the pang of jealousy at the fact it was a pretty girl.
One day y/n, one day....don't be so ridiculous.
You headed on down to the mall and had a look around, it was littered with shops and food places, you noticed scoops ahoy to your right and smiled at the memories you had in there with Steve and Robin, even if you hadn't stayed for long. You continued walking and noticed a cute little diner with a 'Servers Wanted' sign stuck on the window. Perfect! You had experience from serving in a coffee shop during summer when you were at school. You walked on in and spoke to the lady at the counter. 'Hi I'm y/n, I saw your sign out front and was wondering if I could apply for a job here?' You asked with a smile. The lady answered, 'Of course my dear, we are quite relaxed around here, no interview needed, if you are free today we can get you an apron and if you do good you're hired! I'm Denise' You quickly agreed and she ushered you into the back, handed you a hair tie and an apron and began talking you through the ins and outs of the job. You caught on quickly and the day flew in. The diner finally closed at 7pm and Denise approached you with a smile, 'you are a natural darlin, we could use someone like you around here.' 'So I have the job?' You asked excitedly, 'You have the job, can you start tomorrow at 10am?' 'Of course, I'll see you tomorrow, thank you Denise, I won't let you down.' You waved goodbye as you left the diner and began your walk home.
You again walked past the music store, the sign was turned to closed and the outdoor lights were switched off but the inside ones were still on. You glanced in again, you saw the same girl from earlier counting money behind the til and laughing, you couldn't see who she was talking too due to the the large poster hanging in the window, but as you walked further forward the person came into view. It was Eddie. You couldn't see his face but it was very obviously him, you could see his hair, the chain around his belt loops and the rings on his hand, a different one in place of the one he gave to you. He was leaning over the front of the counter with his finger tracing over one of the tattoos on the girls arm. There was that pang of jealously again, you were very aware that you had no right to be annoyed and you weren't..per se, but you were feeling something. You stood for a few seconds, confident that the girl couldn't see you if she looked up, but soon decided you were being a little creepy and started walking again. Your good mood had shifted slightly but you shook yourself off, convinced yourself that you were just being stupid and were clearly just lonely after the breakup with Andrew and Eddie was the first attractive guy to give you even the slightest bit of attention since you came back...no big deal, plus he was obviously just being kind to a new potential friend.
