Part 4

You woke up the next morning feeling bouncier than usual. You had gotten up a little earlier to allow yourself time to put a little extra makeup on and do your hair properly. You had also slipped on your 'good jeans', the ones that made your ass look hot. You were just pulling your shoes on when you heard a honk from outside.

He's here... you were suddenly a little nervous. You still didn't really know the guy, not properly, but there was something so intriguing about him, and not forgetting he was absolutely gorgeous! That dark curly hair, those big brown doe eyes, his lips that looked so plump and soft, his ring clad hands....*HONK*
Shit the guys were daydreaming about was literally sitting in the car outside waiting for you.

Get going you idiot...

You snapped yourself out of your thoughts, grabbed your bag and hurried out the door. Eddie jumped out of the drivers side and made his way round to open the passenger side door for you as you walked down the drive. 'Good Morning Princess, your carriage awaits'

Princess, that was a new one! You enjoyed his little pet names for you.

You giggled. He reached out his hand to help you in. 'Good morning my loyal steed' you smirked. He huffed a laugh in response as you took his hand and hopped into the van. His hands were so damn soft, minus his calloused finger tips, you didn't want to let go but didn't have much of choice. He closed the door once you were sat down and got back into the drivers seat. 'So, where were we?' he winked at you and leaned over to turn the radio up. The same song from yesterday began playing just like he had promised. He drove you to work as you both sang and laughed. He parked up just down the street from the mall and turned the engine off. 'Okay sweetheart, unfortunately our little performance is over for the day' he said with a smile. You faked another sad face and dipped your head down. You weren't expecting it when you felt Eddies finger press under your chin, lifting your head back up, you felt your stomach constrict at his touch. 'Don't give me that face sweetheart, I'll take you home again later, yeah?' He questioned, his finger still under your chin. 'Yeah' you replied 'I'd appreciate that', his took his hand away slowly, fingers grazing your cheek as he did. He smiled holding your gaze for a little longer than you thought friends should, before pulling his eyes away swiftly and hopping out of the van. You hadn't realised until this point that you had been holding your breath since you last spoke, you exhaled with force and got your breath back before getting out of the van yourself. 'I'll see you later then Eddie', you turned to give him a wave. 'See you later sweetheart.' Eddie turned and started towards the music store and you headed into the mall. You were really enjoying your new job, but you couldn't wait for this shift be over.

Your work day went smoothly as usual. Jen had left a little early to go and pick her sister up from school, so you were left to close up by yourself. It was a fairly slow evening, you weren't sure if it was actually slow or if you were just so excited to see Eddie again that it felt that way...it was probably the latter. You were 25 years old and this metal head boy was making you feel like you were 15 again, you were crushing hard. Finally the time came to turn the sign to closed and clean up. You hurried your way through the cleaning process to get out in time so as not to keep Eddie waiting. Once you were finished you took off your apron, grabbed your bag and headed to the front of the mall.

Eddie was there already, standing inside this time. The rain was pouring outside and the security guards had let him wait inside to keep from getting more soaked than he already was. You giggled as you approached him, his hair was wet and sticking to his neck and forehead and the dark grey T-shirt he had been wearing this morning was almost black and was clinging to what you could now see was his toned chest and stomach. He smiled as you got closer. 'Yeah uh...it's raining outside' he said lifting the corner of his shirt and squeezing, causing water to drop on to the floor, but also giving you a glimpse of his pale skin just above the waistband of his jeans. You bit your lip gently before quickly averting you eyes back to his face hoping he didn't notice that you weren't in fact looking at his wet T-shirt anymore. 'You don't say' you replied with a giggle and and he smiled wider. 'If I had a jacket, I would totally offer it to you...but I don't, so we're just going to have to make a run for it.' Eddie held his hand out for you to take as he opened the door. 'Good thing I'm a fast runner then isn't it' you replied with a smirk. 'Is that so miss l/n....in that case it's a race!' he then turned the hand he was holding out for you around to give you the middle finger instead and stuck out his tongue, before legging it out the door. You laughed before taking off after him. He was fast but you made it to the van first and jumped in, Eddie close behind. You both sat there for a moment panting and absolutely soaked through before bursting out laughing. 'You weren't wrong sweetheart,' he giggled breathlessly, 'about what?' You asked, looking over at him, still catching your own breath. 'Your a fucking speed demon' he said widening his eyes 'I really thought I was going to win that one', 'That's what happens when you race the Hawkins High track star...3 years running might add'. You answered proudly tilting your chin upwards. Eddie gently punched your shoulder 'Alright Carl Lewis' he laughed as he started the engine and cranked the heat up full blast. You chatted the whole drive home keeping the music low for a change. Once you had arrived at your house you thanked Eddie for driving you home again. 'It's my pleasure as always sweetheart, I enjoy these car rides' he said grinning. 'I do too Eddie' you replied sweetly.

You really did, they were honestly the best part of your day!

You were about to get out of the car when he spoke again. 'Hey uh...' he paused, 'uh...' you responded smiling, trying to coax out whatever it was he was going to say. 'I was wondering...' he continued 'if you're em...free tomorrow, would you like to hang out...with me? Like just the two of us?' Your hearted virtually jumped out of your chest.

Was he asking you out? Or was this a friend thing? 'Just the two of us'....he's definitely asking you out. Breathe...

'Yeah sure' you responded, 'I'd like that'. The nervous look on Eddies face softened into a smile. 'Cool, I have a few things to do in the morning, but I'll pick you up at around 2pm if that's ok with you?' He asked. 'That's perfect, I'll see you then' you said as you smiled at him and opened the door. 'I'll see you tomorrow Eddie', 'See you tomorrow sweetheart.'

You walked into your house and barely shut the door behind you before sprinting to the phone to call Robin.

'I think you might have been right Rob' you told her. 'Right about what?' She asked slightly confused. 'He asked me out...I think...' 'you think?? What do you mean you think?' Robin asked even more confused now. 'I mean...he asked me to hang out with him tomorrow, just us two...is that a date?' 'Yes it's a date Dingus!' She said excitedly, 'I told you...I freaking told you he liked you' you couldn't help the huge smile forming on your face. 'Okay okay you win...but I'm not getting my hopes up, so far that has only led to heartbreak and I'm not letting that happen again' you said as your smile faded. 'Y/n' Robin continued with a comforting tone 'I know Eddie, he's not that guy, he's not like Andrew, if that's what your worried about' 'I know Rob, but it's hard to trust anyone romantically after what he put me through' you could feel the tears well in your eyes, those stubborn feelings of betrayal creeping back up on you. 'I know it is, but just promise me you'll give him a chance...he's one of the good ones', 'okay...I promise' you answered weakly. 'Plus...I've heard he's got a big...you know' Robin continued, 'ROBIN!' You raised your voice at her with a giggle, 'Alright, sorry...I'm just trying to cheer you up...and it worked, I heard that laugh', 'okay fine..it worked, thank you' you replied, Robin always knew how to make you laugh, you had missed that. 'Anyway, I gotta go, have fun on your date tomorrow, and you better call me afterwards' 'I will, I promise!' 'Love ya Dingus' 'love you too Rob' you answered before hanging up.

You lay in bed that evening, a mix of feelings bouncing around in your head. Where you getting yourself into something too soon? Had you given yourself enough time to heal? If any at all? Where you just setting yourself up for another heartbreak? You didn't know if you could take it if it happened again. But you liked Eddie....a lot, he had made this transition back to Hawkins so much easier and most importantly he made you happy! You hadn't laughed this much in years.

Fuck it...you thought. You have a date with Eddie fucking Munson tomorrow and to hell are you going to let what that douchebag Andrew did to you ruin that!
