A slim and feeble man falls out of his bed as he hears the speeches of the leader of the land of Marygrove blare forcibly in his ears. Then a woman comes on the mate black revolutionary party speaker to announce the agenda of the day.
"WINSTON, WINSTON SMITH! Get out of bed immediately and serve the duties of Marygrove and the party!" The woman shouts loudly into the speaker, her voice ringing and bursting into Winston's ears.
Winston is about middle-aged with long shoulder-length graying hair, and an unshaved growing beard that is grayer than the hair on his head. His room is a small and smelly dormitory, it is a dimly lit one-room area with only a resting bed, T.V. for the party's "health education," and a small purple plastic porta potty outside of the dorm for Winston to relieve himself. He gets up and dusts himself off, sweat falling down his face after another dream of his mom dying during the time of the takeover of the party over Marygrove. They bombed the hell out of the old infrastructure, the gray tall skyscrapers turning into the gray dust and ashes of the times before, forever gone, and old, the party says it's time for a "rebirth" all of this must be forgotten. Winston changes into his party uniform, a big "M" lies above the pocket to the right in a light cyan, while a large husky logo of the party lies in the center. Winston then goes to his creaky and crappy small plastic desk to grab his ID which is required by the party for him to wear at all times unless he is asleep.
He then paces his way out of the dorm, slowly closing the clear french door behind him. Winston can't help but notice the cameras that creep at him through his walk down the led-filled yellow plastered walls. He is making his way to the meeting area for the daily praise as Henry the leader calls it, in the capital region he comes in person instead of on the digital glasses they give people like Winston to watch the daily ceremony. Or as Winston thinks of it, the daily reckoning, it's a stupid obligation really. You have to go to this theater area that is better than most dormitories and other city buildings. Eventually, Winston arrives at the overbearing theater that is packed to the brim with an abundant and loyal population. He sits next to a man named O'Brien, O'Brien is an older man, nearing his nineties when he can finally retire from the bureau of the dictionary where the party has new definitions for the same words every year. He is a short and stumbly man who had some trouble getting in his seat, he sat there intently though focusing his eyes, along with Winston on the dark jet black stage in front of them. The overbearing lights above the stage bright and suddenly flick on and the crowd goes from silent and seated to screaming and standing tall. Winston reluctantly joins them since he doesn't have a choice and he starts cheering loudly along with them. His hands clapping painfully for the leader and his legs jumping high in the air reflecting the crowds' excitement. Finally, the leader himself comes to the stage, a tall man with a black polo shirt on, a golf club resting nicely on his back, his glasses standing neatly on the top of his head, he is wearing his typical ripped jeans and white Nike sneakers with a large swoosh. The swoosh illustrates the truthfulness of the party and Marygrove. He clears out his throat before clicking his gray clicker to start his presentation. He has his large cartoon bitmoji's vast presence on the screen in front of the crowds, its light shining everyone into submission.
"Good morning, I believe my guards have scanned everyone's IDs before you all came in. We all enjoy our safety and don't want thought criminals getting into this glorious theater. Now let us all stand for the anthem before I begin my presentation." Henry says, his voice echoing across the chamber.
As rapid as his voice stopped, the presentation began and it showed the anthem of the Empire of Marygrove. The flag appears with the husky paws shaking one another, a "V" in the center, and "Don't Let Friends Divide By Zero" below it. Then a montage of Marygrove's armies with their husky costumes marching through the land. The anthem that Winston and everyone else starts singing goes like this:
"All hail Marygrove!
The cause is simple yet beautiful.
All hail Marygrove!
The armies are victorious!
What maintains us never dies...
Henry, always at our side
He guides us always, firm and wise,
the light of truth, far and wide.
All hail Marygrove!
The cause is simple yet beautiful.
All hail Marygrove!
The armies are victorious!
Still to triumph, still to conquer,
rushing rapidly to the edge!
Built of peace and strong with pride:
Hail Marygrove, forevermore!
QUIZZING IS EPIC
A DEFINITION IS CRINGE
DRAMA IS BASED"
Henry smiled as the anthem ended, ready for his daily tangents about the latest gossip and war news relating to the resistance.
"As you all know from yesterday, the fight against the resistance was a success, even though the only region that stayed loyal to the empire was the region of Ravi and we are very thankful for their contributions to the war effort," Henry says before he flicks the PowerPoint to a picture of resistance leaders Amara and Bryson for the two minutes of hate.
In the two minutes of hate, the audience rose up and began shouting and cursing out the resistance leaders. In the middle of that turbulence and turmoil, O'Brien was able to manage to whisper a few words into Winston's ear.
"Winston I have heard rumors that the resistance is coming to the capital and that the region of Ravi even left the empire just last summer," O'Brien whispers in Winston's ear to his surprise as this is a thought crime.
You can not challenge Henry's logic by any means even if it is wrong since Henry decides what's wrong, making him always right. Even though O'Brien's logic seems tempting. Winston doesn't fall for it as he has heard rumors about how the resistance is in the middle of a civil war since Amara and Bryson's armies are fighting each other to the brink of collapse. Then the two minutes of hate stop before Winston can even come up with words to tell O'Brien in response as now it is the leader Henry's time to speak.
"I would like to clarify some rumors about the resistance. Yes, they are on the verge of collapse and destruction as now Amara and their allies and Bryson and his allies are fighting one another helping our advance even bette-" Henry says just as resistance troops swarm in with long swords and blue camo uniforms, their faces masked and their swords drawn at Henry.
"I, uh, I surrender..." Henry says as he drops to his knees and is arrested immediately by camo blue soldiers nearby.
As the rebels take Henry out of the theater, the audience goes into disarray, confusion, disgust, panic, and rage. They are roaming around the theater and going mad, their faces red with lack of purpose, and direction, and with grief at the disappearance of their leader. O'Brien looks at Winston and gives a bright grin proving that the party isn't always right and can lie. All of a sudden the leader of them, not Amara, not Bryson, but a different man with a plain white t-shirt and camo pants, his face has a devious smirk. He takes Henry's spot and begins to speak despite the audience's booing and attempting attacks then his guards threaten to suppress the audience making them stop.
"Hello, you stupid idiots I am Melvin, and your regime that was shit just collapsed. You may be wondering how I did it. Well, I will get to that. But for now, this starts a new age of freedom and fun." Melvin exclaims while laughing at the brainwashed audience.
O'Brien turns to Winston with an eager expression as he looks disappointed at Melvin and ready to talk to Winston.
"That man is a traitor, he won't be any better than Henry," O'Brien says to Winston.
"So back to how I did this, well I basically couped both Amara and Bryson's regimes killing them in the process, well anyway I will catch you all later I have some business to take care of," Melvin says rushing out of the room.
"I am right here." O'Brien says as he pulls off a face mask revealing that the person next to Winston was the resistance leader Amara the whole time, all he can wonder is what happened to the real O'Brien and to Bryson.
