OMNISCIENT

"I called you in here for some advice" Thomas shook his leg eagerly. He was excited and grateful that his boss looked to him for advice.

"What can I do for you boss" Thomas replied leaning back in his chair trying to seem cool.

"Well there's this woman..that I really like. I-It's stupid to say out loud but I don't know how to tell her" Adam sighs relaxing his body.

"I'm a man, i'm supposed to be able to communicate with women. But just thinking about it scares me." He looks down, feeling completely vulnerable.

"I-I have a deep fear of rejection" He breathes out. Thomas pursues his lips with a nod, he completely understands his boss.

Thomas was gay, so he knew what it felt like to be rejected. To fear rejection. But he never knew his millionaire boss also had that problem. Thomas sighed leaning up and resting his elbows on Adam's desk.

"Look boss, it might be a bit hypocritical of me to say this to you but you can't let your fear of rejection keep holding you back." Thomas chuckled bitterly knowing he needed to listen to his own advice.

"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take, how can you ever know if she feels the same if you don't at least try? I know it's scary but just think about if you never confess your feelings."

"Imagine her with another man..."

Adam's face fell in the palm of his hands, he didn't want to imagine that. And he definitely didn't want to see it come true. Adam looked up at Thomas as he continued to talk.

"All these things that could've been if you just said a few words, now you have to live in regret because you let fear hold you back" he shook his head.

"Tell me boss, what are you actually scared of?"

"E-Embarrassment" Adam frowned.

"Embarrassment?" Thomas scrunched his eyebrows. "Boss we all get embarrassed, no one's immune to embarrassment. It's apart of life. You can't avoid embarrassment" He laughed.

"That doesn't make me feel better" Adam pursed his lips.

Thomas rolled his eyes, "I'm not here to make you feel better, i'm here to tell you what it is. Whether you choose to actually take my advice or not is your choice. But like I said, you can either live your life in regret thinking about what could've been. OR you can try."

Thomas stood up from the chair and held his hand out for Adam to grab, "It was nice talking to you boss, call me if you need anything else" They shook hands and Thomas made his way out.

Adam sighed leaning back in his chair, he stared at the ceiling thinking. He thought about what Thomas said...

"Imagine her with another man"

As much as it pained him to think about he had to, he didn't want her with another man. She wasn't going to be with another man.

He'd make sure of it.
