I was dragged into the room, which looked like a giant theatre room. There were people sitting behind a wide area of what looked like a judge desk wearing white cloaks that hid their faces. Other people sat or stood around the room in high bunkers that receaded into the wall, staring down at me and whispering amongst themselves. There was a podium in the middle of the room, and the three exorcists held me a few feet behind it. Angel drew a large sword and held it to my neck.
"Quiet!" A man in what was obviously a wig called, and the people fell silent.
"Aaushi Takomura, you are here today under trial for being the illegitimate daughter of Saburota Todo. Your jury will consist of me, Arthur A. Angel, the Grigorgi, and your witness, Shura Kiridakure. How do you plea?"
"Shouldn't this wait until Shura gets here?" I asked, trying to look around but unable to because of Angel's sword at my throat.
"This trial is to be held, with or without Shura. How do you plea?"
"Not Guilty, your honor." Shura approached where I was and stood next to me.
"The defendant did not know of her own heritage until four days ago."
"Four days ago, which equals the time when the Impure King incident occurred?"
"Yeah." Shura defended. I didn't know what to do if they asked me anything.
"Aaushi Takomura, tell the court how old you are?"
"Sixteen?"
"Sir." I added.
"And how long have you truly known Saburota Todo was your biological father?"
"Four days ago, sir."
"Who is your biological mother?"
"Yumi Kanto, sir."
"Is she alive?"
"There have been reports she is among those who worked to create Recombinant life, though she died fifteen years ago after giving birth to Aaushi and Tori Kanto, Aaushi's identical twin. It is suspected she was recreated before the lab was burned down." Angel interrupted.
"Who is this Tori? Why is she not here?" One of the cloaked people asked.
"Tori Kanto did not inherit the demonic powers Aaushi Takomura did, even though they are identical twins. She is being tested as we speak to be sure of this."
"Then an additional charge shall be added to Aaushi Takomura's sentence, the charge of her mother being created by recombinant life."
"What?" Shura asked, stuned.
"As her mother cannot be here to accept this charge, and Todo cannot either, the penalty shall fall to the one related to her, her child. Now, does the defence have any other evidence?"
"No, your honor." I stared at Shura.
"W-what?" The cloaked people talked for a while, before one of them spoke.
"Aaushi Takomura, you are hereby found guilty of being the daughter of Saburota Todo and your mother's charge of being recreated. You will be sentenced to death at five o'clock PM on thursday, two weeks from now. Have you anything else to say?"
"I do!" I turned, pressing against Angel's sword and saw Tori running into the wide room. Murmurs began as she stopped, out of breath.
"Tori, what are you-"
