"Marilyn?"

Seconds pass by like minutes. The clock on the wall keeps moving but it feels like it doesn't. Outside the world is moving too, but it's more comprehensible. Clouds float by on the lazy fall sky. Right by the window there is this cherry tree, which would've looked absolutely beautiful if it were that special season in spring instead of fall. As the clock keeps ticking, Mars begins to wonder how the world can be so simple and kind, and yet somehow people manage to make it so ugly and complicated, for absolutely no reason. She'll never understand it.

Although, to be fair, she might be one of those people. Making the world much more complicated than it needs to be. After all, would a villain be a villain if there was no hero to compare them to?

Yes, Mars does see herself as a hero whenever she does something like this. She's cocky like that.

And she's in some deep shit right now, so she might as well imagine herself as some selfless hero to make herself feel a little better about it.

There is a big glass table in the middle of the principal's office, and it looks like it's worth more than Mars' entire apartment. It's surrounded by four brown leather chairs, each one of them large and fancy. The light from the outside shines from the window, effectively making the room warmer than what's comfortable. A fan hanging from the ceiling and spinning ferociously, helps against the sweltering heat inside the principal's office. Mars can't be entirely sure if the heat is from the outside, though, or from the terrible tension.

"Come in, please. Close the door behind you"

Honestly, Mars is one hundred percent sure that she's the hero in this situation, and the people sitting on those four leather seats are the villains. Mainly because she knows her morals to be right, but also because, well... have you ever watched a movie where the rich people in power at school are the good guys? She hasn't, at least. So, to conclude, no matter what they tell her today, she's still in the right. It's probably not the best mentality to have but at least it's keeping her sane.

She closes the door behind her, but not fully. It's a habit of hers, to never leave doors closed if she feels cornered. Turning around, she then faces the principal, and the woman sitting next to him, with a mask of cold seriousness.

"You can probably guess what this is about, right? Take a seat"

To be completely honest, she's a little nervous. This could very well be her last moment at this school. They could twist this story into her being the bully, and then kick her out without any problems with the curious public or the strict government, who want to keep her and the other government mandated students here.

The problem is clear. She threw a ball straight at Julia's face, on purpose, and fractured her nose. And what was her excuse for committing such a violent act towards another student? Nothing. Because she refused to speak afterwards.
