⚠️ bullying, verbal abuse, violence⚠️

Thursday, mid October

"You said I should just tell her I like her if she asks, it's easier that way"

Leaning against the wall of the school hallway, Atlas holds a water bottle in one hand and his phone in the other, pressed up against his ear. His voice is hushed, but calm. Whoever is speaking on the other line is mumbled and hard to hear to an outsider's ears.

"Look, I did as you said I should! And it worked, didn't it? Everybody is convinced and she got what she needed to get, right?"

Atlas rolls his eyes at whatever comes out of the speakers of his phone.

"-Look, whatever, just go back to the team. I wasn't lying when told coach I had a headache, I gotta get it checked out"

As the boy continues his conversation in the rather empty hallway, the rest of the class are hunched over their books inside the classroom. It's study hall, and Amaya looks down at her notebook, pen pressed up against her lower lip.

It's been just under a month, twenty two days, since she gained real consciousness into this world. Her notebook has twenty one and a half pages filled, the last page being the one she's going to finish today. There are endless rows of text and reminders, drawings of small important objects and even glued-in items such as the post-it note, covering the yellowish white pages.

The thought of having so much text and no real clarity of it all makes Amaya anxious, so today she's decided to change that. Half of the class are doing extra curricular sports, including both her brother and Atlas, even Mars. The other half is busy studying. Amaya would love to know what sport Mars does, but right now, it doesn't matter much. Summarising her notes is her most important agenda of today. She hovers the pen over an empty page, before finally deciding to press it down.

Monday 27th, first day of school. I noticed that Kian and Avan ignore me at school. I met Mars.

Tuesday 28th, second day of school. I regained my first memory of Mars saving me while it rained.

Wednesday 29th, third day of school. I was attacked by Julia in class, but I also regained my second memory.

Thursday 30th...

Amaya looks up from her notebook, thinking back to what happened.

"Woah, look at the mess you've made!"

Some students in the back have given up on studying forty minutes into the study hall, much like herself. Instead, they've decided to be really loud and annoying. It's distracting her from trying to remember things from her already bad memory, and as the seconds pass they only grow louder and her concentration quickly falls apart. "It kind of smells like her, doesn't it?"
