Feelings are Mutual

It was as though they were living separate lives; it was a mirage, a parallel universe, perhaps even an episode of the Twilight Zone---but whatever it was, it was a nightmare that the Buckinghams had been under prepared for.

Never did the children think they could lose one of their parents; their parents seemed immortal and even though they knew she had to be all right, wherever she was, they couldn't help but think the worse; what if she didn't ever come back.

After getting a lead and it pointing them in no direction, Lindsey became even more depressed about the situation because he wasn't sure what to have faith in anymore; he didn't know what to think, what to feel, nor what to do, especially when it came to his children who missed her terribly.

They all missed her terribly and they all thought about everything she could be going through, although they had no idea of the life she was living.

Although she wasn't living as much of a luxury life as before, she was living pretty comfortably and humbly. Unbeknownst to her family, she was living a life as a doctor's wife, taking care of children as if they were her own with a man who was taking care of her in return.

The tale had been told that if Stevie and Lindsey would have never joined Fleetwood Mac, they probably would have just settled down and had kids, as they did, excluding the big careers. Stevie had mentioned that she was studying Speech Communication and English and she figured she would become an English teacher, but low and behold, Fleetwood Mac happened to them and their lives blew up before their eyes.

The life Stevie was living was somewhat similar to what they would have had although the only thing truly missing from her life was music and so far, she wasn't exactly certain about it. She didn't know how her body, brain and heart craved the sound of a melody, a rhythm, perhaps even the sound of a word being sung. She had yet to put her pen down on a paper to scatter her feelings and thoughts upon when that would have been a normal day to day thing for her.

Early that morning, Stevie woke up, once again to the sound of the ocean crashing against the rocks.

It woke her more times out of the night than not, although, she didn't mind because it was relaxing to hear even if it made her a little nervous at times.

Brian was laying nearly on top of her, his head resting on her chest as he slept on his stomach, caressing her body.

She inhaled deeply and she slid out from under him swiftly without waking him and she took one of the blankets, wrapping it around her bare body as she ventured toward the window.

Often times, she would just go and sit by the window in the middle of the night when she had her quiet, when she was alone or just when the ocean really caught her attention enough for her to stare into it.

To that day, she was trying to recall anything more that she could, but she really didn't have a lot of memory other than when she got out of the ocean to when she sat down by the hill to when she woke up in her home; the home she had grown very accustomed to in the last several months.

Suddenly, as Brian moved over in bed, he realized she was no longer in his arms or near her for that matter, so he got up and looked toward the restroom, thinking he'd see the light, but he didn't. He then flipped over and he looked over toward the foot of the bed and he noticed her off to the left at the window.

She was wrapped up in her blanket, sitting on the window sill while one of her legs poked out a bit.

He then got up and he threw some sweat pants on, leaving his upper body bare as he traveled towards her. He brought one of his hands to her bare knee and to one of her shoulders that was covered by the blanket and he approached her and the view she was looking at.
