Brian woke up suddenly startled and he shifted in bed, reaching over to his wife although, he felt that she wasn't in bed. Naturally, he opened his eyes and he looked towards the bathroom and then to the window sill but he didn't see her there.
He got up and he made his way to the restroom before making his way downstairs in order to look for her, however, much to his dismay, she wasn't there either. He then opted to go back upstairs and he checked on Sofia in her room.
As soon as he entered the baby's room, he noticed a draft coming through her slightly opened window and he walked over to close it.
But in that moment, he caught a glimpse of the ocean; there was something in it and so he squinted closer to see that it was, in fact, his wife fighting the current.
Since Sofia remained asleep, he took that as a chance to run out and as he sprinted down to the beach; only a pair of sweats on his body.
"Samantha?!" he yelled, diving into the water in order to help her.
She didn't respond, she had already been knocked out quite hard; not enough strength, air as she fought with one of the strongest elements on earth.
Brian easily grabbed her by the waist and he swam with the current, making it to shore with her in his arms.
He somewhat dropped her into the sand as he plopped her down to do mouth to mouth and CPR.
"Come on, baby, come on..." he grunted as he forced the heels of his palms into her chest.
Suddenly, she jolted upwards, coughing up a lot of water.
He sighed in relief, hanging his head over her as he relished in the fact that she was alive.
She was a little discombobulated to say the least. "Lindsey?" she asked.
He looked up at her, face meeting hers. "Sam?" he replied.
She then flew forward and she sighed, rubbing her head. "Oh, Brian, thank God, it's you..."
"What the hell were doing down here by yourself?" he wondered. "You could have killed yourself... "
"I'm sorry," she shook her head, hugging herself as it was freezing. "I'm sorry," she touched his chest, feeling his heart beating from adrenaline.
"You scared the shit out of me... What were you doing?" he questioned further.
"I just wanted to come down here and... I turned my back on the ocean, I just have these weird thoughts in my head and it's almost like the ocean is haunting me since the accident and I need to understand what it's trying to tell me... I have all these random songs in my head and I just... I'm sorry, I didn't meant to scare you," she shook her head.
He arched his brow.
"Are the kids okay?" she wondered, looking back at their house.
"Yeah, they're in bed..." he stood up, lending his hands out. "Can you walk?"
"I think I'm fine," she assured, taking his hands in order to pull herself.
She was a little wobbly and she was freezing; shivering as they made their way back to the house.
"I went to close Sofia's bedroom window; it was only open a crack but a pretty harsh breeze was coming in and that's when I saw you out here," he swiped his hair back since it was continuously dripping on his face. "I just woke up kind of sudden and I looked all over the house for you..."
"I shouldn't have come alone... I just... I don't know," she sighed. "I shouldn't have turned my back to the water, everybody knows that," she rolled her eyes.
