~ March 15, 1996 ~

Returning to their hotel after a day of complete adventure; breakfast in bed at noon, a walk around some historic buildings, late lunch on the roof of a building that overlooked the Eiffel Tower as they watched the sun set, some shopping, and a walk down memory lane as they talked about the last 25 years together---it was everything---but when they returned, Stevie would be even more surprised.

By dusk, the hotel room was filled with lit candles, rose petals on just about everything as well a small set up of macaroons, wine, champagne and other treats.

"Lindsey?" she blushed, covering her face as she laughed.

"What?" he smirked, settling his hands on her shoulders as he guided her into the room. "Don't you like it?"

"Of course, I love it... But after everything today, when did you have time to set all this up?" she turned to face him, pulling her shawl off.

"I have connections," he joked. "Maybe not as many as you, but I admit, I know people..."

She smiled. "This is beautiful, it's... I love it," she shook her head. "Thank you... We've had such a good trip this year..."

"How will we top next year?" he smirked.

"Ah, I'm not worried about that, honey," she brought her hand up to the side of his face. "Being in the present has always been my forte, you know that. I'm not worried about five years from now. I don't even care what tomorrow brings as long as we both wake up in the morning next to each other..."

He leaned forward and captured her lips easily, embracing her taut as he caressed her.

Pulling away from him, she pressed her head into his chest---just to hold him made her feel good.

"It's mind boggling that we've only been married for twenty-five years," she mentioned. "Just twenty-five... It feels like we've lived about hundreds of years at each other's sides."

He smirked, "Maybe we have..." he swiped her cheek. "You believe in past lives. You say it all the time that we're soulmates, twin-flames... How many lives do you think we've lived together?"

"Had to have been thousands," she said without a hint of doubt.

"And how many more do you think we have left?" he wondered.

"Oh, millions, I hope," she grinned, getting on her toes in order to kiss him. "I wouldn't trade any of this for the world. Look at everything we have..."

"I know. It's still so surreal," he assured. "But I agree, I wouldn't trade even one day out of our life for anything if it was going to be something different from what we've had."

"That's sweet..." she assured, swiping under his eye.

"Let me pour some wine. I got something I wanna show you," he patted her hip, moving passed her in order to get to the small table for two.

"What's that, lover?" she wondered, taking a seat at the table.

"Well, let me know if you remember these..." he pulled a very old piece of paper out of his pocket and he settled it on the table as he poured two glasses of wine.

Unfolding the paper carefully, she grinned as she read over the words.

"Well?" he wondered.

Eyes fluttering up, she smirked. "Of course I remember. Your vows to me... Although it's been twenty-five years since you spoke these to me, I remember our wedding day like it was yesterday..." she then brought her wine glass to her lips. "Oh, this is so good..."
