The Beginning

Chapter 7

Later that night I had huge trouble sleeping, I just lay there staring helplessly at the ceiling just praying I would get at least a few hours of sleep before the light of dawn. I tossed and turned, but no matter how hard I tried, sleep was impossible. I furiously grabbed a pillow and threw it across the room, " why can't I get to sleep, I just want to sleep! " I started sobbing from fatigue.

Suddenly, I heard the door creak open " J-Jack, is that you? " I whispered and held Pasqual who was undoubtedly still asleep!

A tall man with a long black robe, pale grey face, and long pointy nose walked in, " Oh no Rapunzel, I'm Pitch Black " he said with a sly voice, I immediately recognized that name " Jack told me about him, he's the boogie man! He creeps in your room while you're sleeping and sends his black sand into your dreams, resulting in terrifying nightmares " I thought to myself, " But I'm not asleep! What does he want!?". My heart beat accelerated with fear, " JACK HELP ME, ANYBODY HELP ME! " I screamed as loud as I could, " Nobody can hear you " he chuckled, I continued to scream for help and curled up into a ball and cried. Everything around me began to get cold, I could feel it, but I wouldn't dare look up.

I could hear Pitch whispering in my ear, I couldn't make out what he was saying over my screams for help, I was terrified beyond belief. I could feel Pitch's frozen breath beating against my neck, " WHAT DO YOU WANT? " I screamed into my knees, Pitch began to chuckle, it got louder and louder until I could feel him laughing directly into my ear! Suddenly the laughing came to a hault, and silence fell over the room, but I remained in my ball of fear. Out of nowhere he whisperd loudly " I came here..... to KILL! " and I felt a sharp pinch run across my thighs.

My door abruptly swung open as I lifted my head, a bright light suddenly beamed down on me, accentuating my tear stained face. Jack sprinted through the door, followed by North and the others. I collapsed into Jack's arms and sobbed into his frosty blue hoodie, ignoring how cold it was, I was relieved.
North trudged loudly towards me and Jack, bending down so he was leaning on one knee, I looked up at him, he had distressed look on his face, as did Bunny, Sandy, Tooth, even Bunny! " Rapunzel, what did Pitch tell you? " North said in a soft but concerned voice. I looked up at Jack, then around me, Tooth was comforting Pasqual who had only just woken up! Then I looked back at North, " How did you know Pitch was in here? " Jack looked down at me " We heard everything, we were trying to bash the door down but it wouldn't budge, we could hear you screaming but we couldn't get to you " his arms tightened around me. I took a deep breath, trying to rexall the terrifying events " I couldn't hear, I was so scared, he told me he came here to kill, what does he mean? " North was clearly shocked and I continued to sob into Jack's hoodie.
The room fell silent, I looked uo and North gave everybody a nod as to signal something, they nodded back, even Jack. I looked up at him puzzled, " What's going on? " I asked, he looked at me and then to North, North knelt down infront of me and said " The others must be summoned ".
