The Beginning

Chapter 8

(Rapunzel's POV)
North guided all of us back through the long, red hallways, and past the clashing and clanging sounds coming from the main hall as the elves furiously worked on all sorts of strange looking objects.
We all arrive in a room that I was unfamiliar with, but it seemed everyone else knew it all too well. It felt welcoming, book shelves and strange technology of all kinds to track naughty and nice children surrounded me, while in the centre stood a giant, golden, globe. Upon closer inspection I discovered that there were small twinkling dots, scattered randomly around it, more and more appearing as it spun.
North suddenly came to a hault when he reached a large plaque on the floor, causing me to bump into Jack, " oops, sorry " I whisper, he turns and smiles as he takes hold of my hand, bringing me to his side.
North stood tall infront of all of us, the atmosphere suddenly getting more and more tense as the seconds go by. Without warning North says in a serious tone " we must summon the new guardians ", everyone falls silent in shock, except Jack, " wait, what do you mean new guardians, for what? " he asks suddenly. North looks at him with a stern expression, but turns his attention to the globe in the room, he turns, so he is no longer facing us, and whilst doing so he puts his hands behind his back. Then, looking upon the globe he begins to speak, " You see all of those twinkling lights up there? " there is a slight pause, " Those are all of the children we need to protect, and....Pitch is something we need to protect these children from, and if we can't even protect Rapunzel....well then, we are going to need more help " Jack pulls me in close. North abruptly turns his head to face us, " so, as you all know, you are here for one reason, because you were chosen, by Man in Moon " everybody looks up, as do I, on the ceiling in a large circle window, in which you can clearly see the moon. We all look back to North, who looks me dead in the eyes " So, Rapunzel, you must ask the Man in Moon, to choose who he thinks is worthy of fighting Pitch, and joining us to protect the children of the world "
Once again there is a long pause, and everyone looks at me.
"Why me? " I ask confused, " You are the only faced with danger at this moment, therefore you are the one needing to summon help from The man in moon " North sais as he furrowes his eyebrows.
"Go on Punze, don't be shy" Jack said as he nudges me towards the golden plate placed into the floor.
"Now, ask him for help, you don't have to explain, he sees all, but he can only help when it is asked for" North said witha slightly less serious face, which comforts me.
"Um, ok, Mman in the moon, I need help from the.... errr"
"Guardians" Jack adds in as I stutter
" Yyeah... Guardians "
I stand back for a moment waiting for something to happen. Suddenly a huge beam of light comes down from the sky light, I step back, almost tripping over Jack's feet in disbelief.
" ahhhh see, I knew it would work " North sais, seeming quite pleased with himself.
Then, the light starts to form the shape of a small boy, he looks quite young, his hair is farly long and flicks out at the sides, his clothing is strange, almost like animal skin, and he has freckles scattered all across his fair skin.
" What, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock iii, really? He can't even pick up a shield " Jack chuckles.
Everyone gasps.
" Wait who is that? " I ask, " He is ome of the Guardians that Man in moon thinks can protect you, he can handle a dragon very well, and has made peace with them, although I hope that he isn't the only new Guardian " North sais, looking to the moon.
The light hits the gold disk again, this time it is a girl, she has huge curly hair, it is burning red, she has a bow and arrow on her back with small engravings carved in, and a long navy blue dress.
" Wow who is that, her hair is gorgeous " I say in ore, " That is Merida, daughter of the Bear King " Bunnymund explains.
" Oh my goodness, I have to go, there is a problem in the tooth chamber, if I don't fix this then the boys and girls won't wake up with a coin in the morning, I must go, tell me all about the new Guardians later " Tooth sais as she flutters away in a rush surrounded by her little helpers, Sandy silently chuckles.
" Well that must be all the Guardians the.. " North is cut off by another beam of light, only this time, the boy who appears is far too familiar, it is Jack, "Wait what!?! I can't fight Pitch, I can protect Punze but I can't take on Pitch, I almost died last time! " Jack sais in a panic, Bunnymund and Sandy look at each other, "umm, we'll leave you three to figure things out " Bunnymund sais and they both leave so Jack won't have an audience while he panics.
" Jack, it's ok, you can do this, you are strong enough, your powers have healed, you can protect us and the children, and Rapunzel " North sais kneeling down in front of Jack.
I turn back to look up at the moon while North calms Jack down, immediately a final beam of light shines down, the image begins to form, and I freeze, my whole body goes numb when I realise who is there. North and Jack gasp.
" I it's me...."
