"Lily, listen to me!" The breathy whisper from below the tight-shut door called again. Urgently this time. "You gotta run, honey. Find a way, you gotta run fast..." Lisa's chest is thudding. "As far as you can, you hear me?"
"Mommy..."
"This is not the time! I can't protect you anymore so you gotta...you gotta run..." From the little gap separating her and the only person who was ever kind enough to her, a blue stone slipped past - no bigger than half of her palm. "You gotta grow up now...you gotta learn. Forget and learn everything - just keep running and forget. Remember I showed you a picture of the bus?"
"Mommy, don't cry,"
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry, honey - I'm so, so sorry - but you need to remember the bus! Run until you find a bus then get on it! As far as you can!" Another small something slipped through. A clip with folded cash notes and a card with my face! What is this -
"The fuck you doing in here?!" The familiar growl suddenly appeared and on instinct, Lisa pushed herself off the floor and climbed back onto bed. As far as I can - I need to be as far as I can from him!
There were a few more grumbles before the door is opened wide. The piercing eyes first land on her - his usual disgusted expression hardened. Then, they turned back to the crying woman who is clutching on his knees. The strong hand cupped her neck and brought her up. Lisa wanted to shout at him but she's scared. Her hands that are hiding behind her - they're shaking with a different type of fear now. It will only be worse if he hears me...if he finds what mommy just gave me.
"You tryna let her go? You tryna cross me??" The man grunts close to her face. Her mother's skin is turning red as she breathes and cries heavily. Harshly. "Ruin me??" He's shouting now. No, no please - "You know what happens now, don't you?" The snicker is evil, same as his smile. "You always wanted to swim, don't you? Let's go swimming -"
"No!" On instinct, she jumped on her feet, just as the big, scary man started dragging her mother by the neck. He halted and turned. The stance and deep glare is enough to stop her from taking the next step. "Please..." She can't stop weeping...begging. "Don't hurt her, please...please, don't hurt my mommy..."
A devilish smile crept up on his mouth. "Mommy's gonna go for a swim. Say 'bye-bye mommy' now..."
A...swim? But mommy don't know how to swim! "No!!" Her scream was of no use!
Her mother disappeared past the light once they got up the stairs. The big man closed the door behind and there's only darkness now...silence, except for her praying whimpers and snivels. What do I do? What do I do...he'll hurt me too, won't he? Where do I run to - how do I run?
Her eyes are running wild and unfocused in this small, dark basement. There's nowhere...I can't see - can't see anything! Her heart feels like it could beat itself out and her skin had never felt so sweaty. The only comfort she could find in this moment is that she is alone again, so she is safe. And eight minutes passed.
"Hello, little sis,"
Two identical faces appeared at the door and she's shaking again. She can only tell them apart by the way they stare at her. Mino will only have a single goal in his eyes - like an instruction for him to carry out - while Mark's will speak of all the terrible things he has in plans for her. They took a few steps further in and she screamed, the loudest that she could...even when she knew no one could ever hear her. No one ever hears me - "Shut the hell up!"
"Don't touch me!!" She tried to kick the hands away from her arms and legs from the moment they touched her. No...no, please!
"Hold her still, dammit!"
