The first week of November brings with it the first brutal cold of an impending winter season. A cruel reminder of how cold the Scottish highlands will get in the coming months.

With November comes the beginning of the Quidditch season. An air of excitement in the hearts of the fans in the student population. On the following Saturday, Mattheo will be playing in his first Quidditch match against Gryffindor.

Mattheo has been busy most evenings, as Marcus Flint has had the entire Quidditch team training every evening for the coming game. Gryffindor is a strong opponent and that means they have to be stronger.

Word that Mattheo was playing as the newest Slytherin Chaser had somehow leaked on the night of Artemis' party. And the rumour opened to mixed reviews, people were saying that once he had bested a troll then a game of Quidditch should be easy. Others were telling him they'd be running under him with a mattress for when he fell face first into the pitch.

Being friends with Artemis again came with its benefits, both she and Hermione Granger were reading him passages from Quidditch Through the Ages as a way to calm him down.

"Fred and George were telling me that a match once lasted three years, both Seekers were hurt so badly that they fell into comas, and they had to wait until one of them woke up and caught the snitch to end the game" Delphini tells Mattheo.

"Lucky I'm not a Seeker then, no one will bat an eyelid when I get knocked from my broom" Mattheo barks at his sister.

Mattheo and Delphini have always enjoyed the cold weather, so they're sat out in the Clocktower Courtyard while they're studying. Delphini seems to be getting worse as the year progresses, and Artemis' grandmother hasn't been able to find out any information on Delphini's condition either.

Artemis, Frey, Lorenzo and Penny come and sit with the twins, but they're bundled up to the nines with warm clothing. They don't happen to have the same feelings for cold weather as the Riddle twins.

"How can you guys stand sitting out here in this weather?" Penny asks, her teeth are chattering together as her body attempts to warm up. Penny has yo sit closer to Lorenzo to stay warm, they've been very friendly with one another since the party.

Lorenzo taking down a troll has done wonders for his credibility around school. No one expected it to be Lorenzo Berkshire that took down a mountain troll, he always seemed to be the one overlooked out of the four of them.

Mattheo is the boy-who-lived, and the school hot head. Always looking for a fight when someone challenges him.

Artemis is the top student of the year. The one that is always pushing the academic boundaries to the limit. And she seems to be in every school club that is offered.

Frey is the school mystery. Beating up Slytherin students with some sort of super strength. No memory of her past at all.

Lorenzo is always the one that is the sidekick, usually, and now he's the hero of the school.

"He's part polar bear" Frey snipes at Penny sarcastically. Mattheo seems to love the cold more than nicer weather.

"It would explain his grouchy attitude" Lorenzo jokes, getting laughs from everyone but Mattheo.
